Hey there guys!! So I was finally able to watch La La Land and I was such a wreck after it, let me tell you! But it was so beautiful and I'm so in love with it. The music was just as amazing and then this wonderful idea came to me as well. This is pretty angsty, which I for some reason am inclined to write so often xD Hope you guys enjoy!! P.S. Theseus is in this and I was looking through the fancasts for him and I really liked Jamie Bell, so I went with him as Theseus :)

You stood in front of the mirror, looking over your hair and make up once again. You weren't one to obsess over these things but today was a very special day. It's not every day that a girl gets to announce her engagement in front of her friends and family.

You smiled to yourself as you started to put your dress on. Your mind drifting to him. You considered yourself so lucky. You never thought you had the ability to love someone so deeply. Or to have someone love you just as much in return. He'd been a part of your life for so long, indirectly, that you'd never really given much thought to the possibility of the two of you ending up together. In fact, there was a time you had a much different picture of how this day would go.

When he first propositioned you it was much later in your friendship, one that had been very surface level for years until shared work brought you closer together. You hadn't been expecting it at all. He also had a certain reputation, which also made you wary. But once you made your decision, you never looked back once.

He was the love of your life. The one person you were convinced you would never find. You laughed to yourself. It was all still overwhelming to you, that this was actually happening.

You'd managed to get your dress on, not being able to zip it up all the way but deciding to just deal with it once you'd gotten your shoes and jewelry on. Just as you were finishing up you heard a knock at the door.

"Has everyone already arrived?" You called out, assuming he'd be the one at the door.

"Um, it's just me," you immediately smiled as you heard the familiar voice, "is it alright if I come in?"

"Newton Scamander," you turned, beaming at him as he stuck his head through the door, "to what do I owe the pleasure?"

He gave you his half smile as he entered and closed the door behind him, slightly ruffling his hair. He wasn't wearing his trademark blue coat but was instead dressed in formal attire. A nice vest and bow tie with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows.

"Can't I just come spend some time in my own room?" He teased, looking around at all of your stuff that was scattered around, "you've practically taken over it today."

"Don't worry," you replied, turning back to the mirror, "I'll be out of your hair soon enough."

Newt's face fell upon hearing that but he was quick to recover.
