Chapter Twenty Two
Claire’s POV-
I had never enjoyed being dragged somewhere. Sure, Cody would playfully take me to places forcibly, but this was different. First of all, I trusted Cody and knew that he wouldn’t do anything to hurt me. Second, he knew that I didn’t mind him being this way and knew what his intentions were.
Noah was different. It wasn’t hard to figure out what Noah’s intentions were. He obviously didn’t plan on ‘just dancing’.
I tried to scream Cody’s name, but he either couldn’t hear me or I didn’t get a sound out. I began to frantically look around for anyone that looked familiar with no luck. I panicked even more as he yanked me to a spot among the other people and began to attempt me to get me to ‘dance’ with him. It honestly wasn’t a dance that I wanted to be any part of.
He continually tried grinding into me. I attempted repeatedly to push him away, but it was useless. His massive body continued to violate my personal space.
Tears welled up in my eyes as he went to kiss my neck. But before he had time to indulge anymore, a very massive and very familiar hand came from behind me and roughly pushed Noah away from me. Then, two large arms wrapped around me and lifted me up off the ground. I was now behind Cody, cowering into his muscular shoulders.
“I think that’s all the dance time you need with Claire.” He said in a calm voice. But I could tell he was still pretty pissed by how tense his jaw was.
“I think that’s for Claire to decide.” Noah retorted. He was equally as mad.
“I think you need to butt out and quit puttin your damn nose where it doesn’t belong.” Cody spat.
After he said this, Reagan came up behind me and touched my shoulder, letting me know it was her.
“Did it ever occur to you that maybe she was enjoying herself?” Noah said with a smirk. No, I definitely was NOT enjoying myself.
“Reagan, get Claire out of here.” Cody said without breaking his stare down with Noah.
He obviously had a past, or part of a past that I didn’t know about.
Cody’s POV-
He had crossed the line. I made it clear to him that I didn’t even want a glance from him in her direction. But is that point taken seriously? No, not at all. Quite the opposite, actually.
Sure, I didn’t mind a year ago when he danced with my girlfriends. But I was young and those girls didn’t mean nearly as much as Claire does. He was going to pay.
“See, I don’t really think that was necessary?” Noah said with a condescending tone of voice.
No one had noticed our little argument so far. I guess they were either to drunk or didn’t care. I was grateful. But before I could reply, Noah was walking through the club to the back door. Now we were alone. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing.
“I told you to stay away from her.” I said. At this point, I was shaking with anger.
“But she wanted to dance with me.” He replied with a smirk.
