Aria POV

I am sitting in Hanna's room, eyeing a magazine when I see Hanna apply red lipstick. I smirk and reach over into my bag, "haven't you heard goth is the new geek?" I toss her a darker shade and she tosses me a playful glare as I continue, "tonight's gonna be killer. You and Emily, me and CeCe, an open bar."

She chuckles and shakes her head, "there is no me and Emily, or you and CeCe, for that matter." I walk over to her, hugging her from behind, while I smirk, "very true. You know, Emily's loving the idea that you're coming tonight."

Hanna's eyebrow peaks as she looks at me through the mirror, "and how do you know that?" I smile giddily as I take the lip gloss she hands back to me out of her hand, then jump on her bed.

"'Cause she told me she's still hot for you. She was actually very sweet about it."

Hanna snorts and turns to me, "Emily Fields?" I sigh and sit up, my hands on her shoulders as I stare at her, "you know you two were meant to be together."

Hanna raises her eyebrows and turns her back to me, fixing her dress in the mirror as she sighs, muttering, "that's a scary thought."

Alison POV

"Come on Alison. Just do it dammit," I mumble to myself as I walk down the road and stare at CeCe's house down the road.

I can't do it.

I can't!

I grunt and close my eyes, "do it, Alison. Tell her."

I look at my wrist and see the plastic cracker jack bracelet Emily gave me on it.

Don't say I never gave you anything.

I close my eyes, the butterflies from that day filling my stomach now as I picture her hand brushing my skin and then the image change. It changes to outside the school, where Emily almost kissed me.

I blink out of my daze and see that I am already on the front stoop. I knock loudly and constantly until the door swings open by an instantly worried CeCe.

"Ali?"

I don't answer, instead I walk inside, fiddling with my hands nervously, "what are you doing here?" I glance at her and roll my eyes, "first, I am saving you from that tie."

I take off my jacket and groan, "second..." I sigh, putting my hands in my pockets. "We need to talk."

"Well, could we do both at the same time." She leads me to her bedroom and I nod swiftly, "yeah."

I turn around to look at the ties and eventually choose a black one as CeCe takes off the other one. I shift my weight from foot to foot, feeling very uncomfortable.

"Uh, okay, you're not gonna like this. In fact... you're gonna hate this." I start tying her tie around her shirt collar and bite my lip nervously, "but I feel that I should tell you in the interest of full friendship disclosure."

CeCe laughs, "yeah, right. What could be worse than you tutoring Emily, huh?"

At the sound of Emily's name I close my eyes, then look up to meet her gaze which is locked on me, her smile still plastered on her until it clicks. CeCe realizes what I'm talking about and stops smiling.

"You like her."

I point my finger up at her, "Ce, do not freak out on me, okay? I can't help it any more then you can."

She throws her arms up angrily, "I don't like her!" "I'm talking about you and Hanna. We don't decide who we like. We just-it happens! And I am sorry but it is happening with Emily! I like her, Ce."

She looks away from me and grunts, slapping her hand onto her desk angrily, "do you know what you're getting yourself into?" "I-I'm not getting myself into anything! I am thinking about maybe getting into something that is never gonna happen anyway, so-" "but what could you possibly like in the girl, huh?"

I bite my lip, and feel the intense spotlight right on me, "d-different stuff. We connect. Yes, she can be a total ass sometimes." I walk over to CeCe and look back at her, right in the eyes, "but I'm telling you, it's just a defense mechanism. She really opens up with me, Charlotte."

At the sound of her real name she shakes her head and sighs, looking down, "you know how I feel about her."

"And I'm sorry for that. I am." She closes her eyes, then looks at me, a softer look on her face, "but I get it, all right? I understand."

I breathe out like a huge weight was just lifted from my shoulders, "okay." She grabs my shoulders, "just do me a favor, okay? Just-" "be careful?" I sigh, "yeah...I wish everybody would stop saying that."

CeCe POV

Mom, Aunt Spencer and I get out of the car, right outside of Wayne and Emily's stupid mansion as I smile, "hey, guys, maybe we should have, like, a signal. You know, in case one of us wants to leave."

Spencer frowns, "maybe we should just leave."

"Oh, come on. That's no fun. How about 'chomp'!" My mom laughs, "Chomp?" I shrug and grin at her, "yeah. You know, like a shark. Chomp!" Mom only chuckles more and nods, "Chomp!"

I pat her back and grin, "that's the spirit. So, when one of us wants to leave, we just 'chomp.'" "Chomp!"

Spencer tries it out hesitantly, "Chomp!"

I laugh and pat her back pitifully and she glares at me playfully, then laughs along with me. "You ready, mom?" I breathe out as we stand in front of the door. She takes a deep breath and sighs, "ready as I'll ever be."

I ring the doorbell and we wait for a few awkward moments until mom butts in, "you know, maybe the best plan is to just avoid him all night, and then that way..." she is interrupted when the door opens, Wayne opens up the door and smiles the most fakest ass smile I have ever seen in my life.

"Come on in."
