Emily POV

Once Alison is gone I instantly regret it. Of fucking course I messed up. I am such an idiot! I sit at the table, alone while I try to think of a way to apologize to her. I look at my phone and see that it's almost midnight. I get up and leave the restaurant, sprinting to the Brew, then realize she is most likely not there.

Her house.

I head over to there but Alison isn't answering. She's home. She has to be. I see her bedroom light but it shuts off immediately.

I hang my head in disappointment. Not at her for shutting me out.

But at myself for shutting her out.

Why did I act like she was nothing?

She isn't nothing. And it was  a date. One that will probably never get a second chance. Or another second chance, that is. Alison gave me another try but I ruined it, for good. And this one is all on me. I acted like a dick in front of her. I don't want to do that to her...but whenever I am around those guys I just...switch to the Emily they know.

The Emily the world knows and expects to see.

Truth is, I acted like that because I'm scared.

Nobody would accept me and Alison together. That's close to impossible. But...why do I care?

I like Alison.

Wait...I do?

Of course you do, you idiot.

I smile to myself, "I like Alison."

It started out as a joke because I wanted to mess with CeCe but I actually really like her. She's smart, funny, honest and she's the only person who sees the real me, despite my dicky outside features.

I stare up at her house and sigh, walking away. I'll come back in the morning. I have to get her forgiveness. I don't just want it. I need it. She is like...a breath of fresh air. She is my token to happiness. And I hope that I am hers.

Aria POV

I walk into Spencer's garage and jump on top of a car, waiting for her and when she walks in she instantly smiles when she sees me, "hey! I haven't seen you in a while."

I give her a peck on the cheek and jump off the car, "I know. I've missed you."

"As have I. What's up?"

"Nothing. Just wanted to see if you'd want to hangout...maybe in...your office?" I smirk and Spencer looks at me over her shoulder, then chuckles, "I would, babe, but I really got a lot of work to do. If you wanna hangout a little I could take you home and we can sit in my apartment while..." "you make lasagna?" I raise my eyebrows hopefully and Spencer chuckles, "sure. I'll make lasagna. Anything for you. We can eat and watch-" "Sunset Boulevard!" I cheer and Spencer stares at me, her eyes sparkling, "how did I find you?"

"Easy. I showed up here, remember?"

She shakes her head, "not true. You passed me in your car. I remember. What a blessed day." I snort and nod, "blessed it was."

She smiles and kisses me again, then leads me into her office, "not a lot of work but a few shipment releases and contracts I gotta look over and fill out."

"Sounds complicated."

"Ah, it is." She starts writing all over stuff while I pick up a picture on her desk...one of CeCe and Mary.

"This is CeCe, right?"

"Yeah. My niece. She's uh...she's something special. She does have a lot going on right now, though."
