Aria POV

"Hey you," Spencer reaches her hand out to me and I clasp our hands together, going up on my toes to kiss her and she grins into my lips.

"Don't you look cute," she compliments and I smile, "thank you."

Truth is, I just changed out of my cheerleading uniform in my car before coming here. Spencer leads me in, our hands clasped together and we sit down and order food, I get a salad of course. "So...tell me more about yourself Aria. What do you like? What do you do?"

She rubs patterns on the back of my hand and I raise my eyebrow teasingly, "well. You, and you."

She chuckles and nods, "other than me."

"Okay fine," I think for a minute and nod, "I'd like to be a writer one day. You know, get published, famous and travel the world, then possibly get a movie made."

She perks up, clearly interested and I smile to myself. "What do you write about?"

"Oh you know. Regular stuff...it's kind of personal stuff." She nods and smiles, "maybe you'll let me read it sometime?"

I stare into her beautiful eyes and nod, "yeah...yeah I'd like that."

After lunch, we bid our goodbyes and I head back to school in time for science class.

Emily POV

My science class class is watching a slide-show on the overhead while taking notes on something that looks gibberish to me. Hanna is in the front row, me behind her and Aria behind me.

"Okay, you guys, listen up. Now, you'll all want to pay close attention to this next batch of slides. We'll be discussing them following the slide show and, uh, I also have a feeling that this material may find its way onto your next quiz, so..."

A voice interrupts my focus and I know exactly who it is when she whispers, "how are you, Em?"

I shrug at her and bend my head back slightly to whisper, "bored." "And lonely, right? Just a smidge." I chuckle, "Aria, whatever drugs you're on, save them for the party, okay?"

"Ah, 'the party.' Guess who's coming with me? I'll tell you, Hanna." I shrug once more, "whatever. She's off my radar, and apparently, I'm off hers too." My mind instantly wanders to a certain blonde. One that I almost kissed and I start smiling until Aria talks again, "that was high Hanna. She's totally back on track. And I think the new 'old Hanna; would be open to discussing a reconciliation."

I raise my eyebrows in surprise and feel my hope perk up, "did she tell you that?" I turn around this time to get a good look at Aria who smirks, "she tells me everything."

My gaze wanders back to the class but catch on the back of Hanna's head in front of me.

"What are you up to, Aria?" I whisper. Something doesn't feel right.

"What? I just want to see two people that are perfect for each other back together. Is that a crime?"

I look forward at Hanna who is looking back at me now but turns back around when I look at her. My cheeks heat up and I bite my lip...I don't even know if I like Hanna anymore...but being with her would be easier than if I start something with Alison.

Wait...what? Who says I'll start something with Alison?

I shake my head and look down at my paper but am shocked to see a name written out. Alison. Did I just write that? Why...what?

Alison POV

I walk in the parking lot but jump when a car starts backing up and I hold my hands up, "woah, walking here."

I look up and see Hanna staring at me, then laugh, "God! I...I'm sorry!" She looks up at me and I chuckle, "Like you weren't aiming."

"You're not on that list," she smirks and winks, making me laugh. "You need a ride somewhere?"

I bite my lip anxiously and look down the road that I usually take to walk home, "um..." "Come on, get in."

Reluctantly I slide into the seat jokingly speaking, "I guess it's better to be in your car then under it."

"So, I'm not really good at this," she mutters and I nod, "yeah, obviously you're gonna want to put that in gear and give it a little gas." Hanna playfully hits my shoulder and laughs, "no, I meant-I mean the whole not-being-defensive thing."

My eyebrows pull together in confusion as I nod slowly, still not totally understanding, "okay?" Hanna sighs, looking over at me slightly, "last week in Aria's car, you said 'she cares about you', and I was trying really hard to be cool, and I didn't ask, um, whether you meant Emily or CeCe."

I nod, finally understanding what she means. "Right. And now you're asking?"

She smiles sheepishly, her cheeks brightening in a pink shade, "in a pathetic kind of way, yeah." I shake my head with a light laugh filling my chest, "I'm-I'm not gonna be much help. I-I guess I meant both of them. Lucky you, right?"

Hanna looks out of the convertible to her left, her laugh genuine and kind, "look, it's not like you need my permission or anything, but if you like Emily, it's totally cool. Just be really careful." I nod along slowly, yet again.

"Be careful. Yes, I know. You told me," I deadpan and look out of my side of the car at the students walking by, my face most likely looking majorly confused. Why does she keep telling me to be careful?

"Okay."

I look at her, concern on my face, "you be careful, too."

She raises an eyebrow, "with which one?"

I copy her but plaster a wide, playful smirk on my lips as I motion my hand towards the road, "driving. My mother likes it when I get home alive. Let's go." I pat the side of the card and this causes Hanna to laugh.

She pulls out of the school parking lot and I stare up at the sky as we drive, the wind blowing my hair all around.

Be careful.

What do I need to be so careful with?
