CeCe POV

"Hey! Good game," I grin at Aunt Spencer who just laughs, "are you kidding? I practically threw my back out. And hell, I'm not even that old. I was by far the worst one out there, including old Crenshon with his wooden leg."

I only chuckle slightly and shrug, "Oh Spencer, you know it's never about basketball. And just so you know... what you did for Emily...also what you've done for me..." I sigh and look her in the eyes finally, "well, lets just say I was proud to have you as my dad for the night."

She stares at me in a fond way as her eyes glisten happily. Before she can speak, I talk more, "you know, I've been thinking about what you said about the Fields name, and, and I think I'll keep it. I just hope I can wear it as well as you."

She looks as if she has so much to say but she pulls it all together in a pure, genuine look with, "thanks" added to it as she hugs me tightly. I smile and pull away as I begin to walk out.

Emily POV

When I get out of the gym I see Hanna standing alone. My lips pull up into a light smile, "hey. I'm really glad you came. I knew you would anyways. I want you to know Han that...things are going to be different for us, I promise."

She looks at me with her blue eyes and frowns, "did you know that my mom died tonight? Seven years ago."

I gulp and shift my weight to a different foot as I bite my lip nervously. I didn't know. At all. Stupid.

"Yeah...you didn't know because you never bothered to ask. And for the record, I didn't come here for you tonight." I look back up at her with a confused look. She then fixes her line of vision to behind me so I turn around, seeing CeCe walk outside, staring right back at Hanna. I look down, realizing she was here for her and not me.

I shove my hands into my pockets and Hanna walks past both of us, pushing through me and I look at CeCe, hanging my head as I walk away.

Spencer POV

I am just about to close shop when I hear a car roar up. "Sorry we're closed," I say and walk over to see who it is.

My feet stop dead in my tracks when a girl steps out, the one from before. She smiles at me in a sweet yet sexy sort of way.

"Hi," I say and she grins, "good evening." She shuts her door and walks over to me, looking around the shop as she goes inside.

"We're actually closing but if you need me to check out-" "you have clearly already done that. Check me out, I mean." She grins and I feel my blood pressure pick up. She is gorgeous. And she is definitely hitting on me.

"Uh well I uh-" "don't freak out, really, it's fine. I am used to it anyways." I nervously laugh and smile cheekily, "right."

"You're really cute, you know that? What's your name? Spencer?"

I gulp and fix my shirt, "uh yeah! Yeah, Spencer Fields."

The girl nods and looks me up and down, "well Spencer Fields...you clearly work very hard..." She trails off and looks at my tool box, grabbing a tool and strokes it with a smirk, "think you could show me some of your tools sometime?"

I almost collapse right then and there. My legs feel wobbly and my cheeks heat up ferociously. "U-uh sure. If that's...what you want?" I walk closer to her and she keeps our eyes locked on one another, "oh it is definitely what I want."

She giggles and I lightly grab the tool from her, our fingers brushing and I feel the slightest bit of electricity rush up my arm. I look deeply into her eyes and she doesn't move as I reach over her to put the tool back. When I pull away, my eyes are still on hers, locked, held onto.
