Chapter 31. [One On One]

SECOND PERSON

Thursday

A few days passed by with Igarashi being your boyfriend. He would tease you, buy you food, label you as his and show you around school. You still hated his guts though. Ushijima would talk to you at times since you were both in the same class. He was stoic and blunt but you managed to talk to him normally since most people would be surprised at him being blunt at all times. He once asked if you can join him and his team for lunch but Igarashi would always snatch you away. Kazuki in the other hand was busy with many things since the school festival was nearing. It would happen two days after the Inter High Preliminaries. So as usual he can't and won't accompany you since Igarashi was always there beside you. But on some lucky days he would be there with you.

Meanwhile a certain girl named Sakuragi Akira was beyond pissed. The things she have seen and heard were true. That you became Igarashi's girlfriend. At first she didn't care much about you but when the rumors came and spread like wildfire she went to prove it herself and saw the truth. She then started hating you and sent some of her minions to fight you. At first they managed to hurt you but Ushijima was there to defend you. The past days have been utter hell for you when Igarashi's fan girls started to make your life miserable by destroying what's inside your locker, stealing your gym clothes, attempting to douse you with cold water and many more. But one of the things that definitely got your vision going red was a rumor that they spread. That you were hooking up with any guy in school and doing "it" in the storage room. Specifically Kazuki Ichirou, Igarashi Hayato, Ushijima Wakatoshi and the whole volleyball team.

Because of this, you were sent to the guidance counselors office. They asked you many things but you proved yourself innocent.

"Honestly try questioning yourself, why would a third year senior like me hook up with any guy in school? Why would I do that? Is there a problem with my family? If so, I would do what every teenage girl do. Slice my forearms with a blade but I would rather rely on myself for emotional support. Have anyone seen me going out of the storage room with a disheveled appearance specially with a guy who just had a pretty damn good time? Have you ever seen any proof of that happening? Have you asked your students? Why would everyone including adults like you believe a stupid rumor without even seeing any proof. Have you ever passed the storage room without hearing noises? Go ahead and prove me wrong"

Thankfully they let you go and instead called for the whole fan girl club to go to their room.

After that they were silenced and the rumors immediately died down. But Sakuragi Akira have had enough.

"Hey, you! Tsukishima y/n! I challenge you to a match in volleyball!" a loud clear voice rang throughout the whole hallway of the senior floor.

All the students looked at your direction as you turned to look at a long black haired girl. Her eyes narrowed on your direction and she stomped towards you.

"Just because the guidance counselor let you go doesn't mean this is over" she said with a voice full of anger. You stared down at her with your eyes narrowing in pure annoyance.

"Can I squish you to a pulp during the match? Cause I'd be honored to do so."

"I really hate you Tsukishima, ever since you came here you've been a pain in the ass"

"Oh don't worry, we're mutual. I really pity you for being obsessed over your ex boyfriend. Can't you get over him? "

"You b*tch, how did you even know?"

"Igarashi told me, and actually you are one of the people he loathed heh pity you"

Akira raised her hand to slap you but instead you felt arms wrapping around your waist as your back collided to a hard chest and a chin rested on your shoulder. Akira's hand stopped mid air as her eyes widened.

"H-hayato" she stuttered and you looked at your shoulder to see Hayato with a smirk on his face.

"Why do you keep hitting on my girlfriend?" he asked as his grasp tightened around your waist. You really wanted to get off his grip but you need to continue the act he started.

"Cause I want to, you got any problem?"

"Isn't it obvious? Lay off my girlfriend or I'll have to do something you wouldn't want to happen" he threatened as his dark grey eyes narrowed dangerously at her figure.

Akira's eyes narrowed as well and she stood up straight.

"Fine, if she wins in our battle in volleyball one on one" she bargained.

"Is that fine by you?" Igarashi asked you and you nodded

"Why not? If you win, I'll leave Shiratorizawa and if I win, I'll not see your face in the whole campus" you bargained and her left eye twitched upon hearing your bargain.

"Deal." she declared and turned around to leave

You watched her retreating figure with narrowed eyes and got off of Igarashi's grasp as you turned to leave as well.

The crowd dispersed and Igarashi followed after you.

"Hey, Y/n. What was that about?" he asked as he walked beside you.

"Isn't it obvious?" you asked and he scoffed

"How can you even play with just one on one? Are you just gonna toss the ball?"

"I don't know, how about you ask her?"

"Stop being such a b*tch y/n" he warned but you scoffed at him

"Sorry for being a b*tch because of you" you spat back and in the blink of an eye you were pinned to the wall with Igarashi staring right into your eyes.

"I guess I have to spill the secret then~"

Your whole body froze. Consequences of letting him spread the secret was playing inside your mind. You being unemployed after graduation. You being a disappointment in your family. School Universities not accepting you.

You always wanted to make your parents proud even though you were a troublemaker. And you still wanted to make your own future through education.

You remained silent as you looked down and he let you go.

"Let's go, we're already late for class" he said and pulled you heading towards your classroom.

Meanwhile...

Oikawa looked up to the sky during class hours. He wondered what was happening to you right now. His chocolate brown eyes following the trail of a white eagle with brown feathers soaring across the sky. It was rare for eagles to cross the sky at days like these but he didn't mind. Instead, he was praying for your safety and missing your presence...
