Blaine Anderson had it all. He had an amazing life in New York, he had the perfect apartment with the perfect view of Central Park, and the most important of all, his perfect friend. Blaine's roomate, Kurt Hummel, was his best friend. They met each other at Dalton Academy, the school Blaine went to before he transferred to McKinely. One day he noticed Kurt was staring off into space looking sad sitting on his bed. Being the caring person he is, he decides to help his friend.
"Hey, are you alright?" Blaine asked. Kurt hadn't realized he was there, so Blaine poked his tummy to get his attention and the latter jerked away giggling. "Kurt! Earth to Kurt!" he said. That did it."Okay, okay! What's up?" Kurt smiled and pushed Blaine's hands away from his stomach.
"What are you thinking so intently about?" Blaine asked him. Kurt shrugged his shoulders.
"Home, McKinely, the Glee club, everything about Ohio," he said shaking his head slightly. Blaine knew exactly how Kurt felt because he missed it too. He missed the wide open fields where him and his brother Cooper would play in. He missed the quiet, smoothe atmosphere. He missed the sound of crickets putting him to sleep rather than listening to cars honking and helicopters passing until he dozes off. Sometimes he just wanted to go back to it all. This then sparked an idea in Blaine's mind. When Kurt wasn't looking, he looked at the calender on his phone. November 8th is what is read. If he remembered correctly, the following day will mark the day he met Kurt, November 9th. Before he could completely understand the plan, it was settled. To celebrate them first meeting, Blaine would take Kurt to Lima.
When the day had come, Blaine couldn't possibly contain his excitement. He had gone out and got train tickets the night before while Kurt was sleeping. Clever, huh? He desperately waited for his friend to wake up so he could share the surprise. He stood up and looked at his sleeping friend. Blaine could only stand there and admire Kurt. He knew he had feelings for the boy, but he thought Kurt just wanted to be friends. Blaine's lips trembled at the sight of Kurt's face. He had been best friends with him for a long while now, and Blaine felt fireworks since the very begining. Not to mention the butterflies he gets in his stomach whenever Kurt smiles at him. That beautiful, beautiful smile. Blaine floated around in this thought for a bit but soon snapped out of it and silently prepared Kurt and himself for the trip. When he finished packing for the both of them, he saw Kurt slowly stir to life. Blaine watched as his compainion adorably yawned. He sat up and rubbed his eyes.
"Good mornin," Kurt greeted his buddy.
"And good morning to you. Hey, do you know what day it is?" Blaine asked grinning. Kurt put his hand on his chin and pretended to think.
"Um... Tuesday?" he asked. Blaine's smile fell. Had Kurt really forgotten what this day meant? "I'm just kidding! Of course I know. It's November 9th; aka, the day we met. Happy aniversery, Blaine." The shorter boy's smile returned to his face. He was so happy, he might've cried.
"RIght you are. Happy aniversery. And to celebrate this day, I have a surprise for you, Kurt." Blaine stood up and wheeled out the boys' luggage.
"What are you...," Kurt tried to ask. But Blaine didn't let him.
"You said that you missed home, and I miss it too. Everything about it. The sights, the smells, the silence." Blaine laughed at his sentence. "Lima is our hometown, and it's where we met each other, and I want to share those memories with my best friend. So, Kurt Hummel, would you accompany me?" Blaine asked holding up two train tickets. Kurt nearly fell out of his bed.
