(This will be a very special chapter. Kurt and Blaine start life with their newborn babygirl. *squeals* I'm so excited!!! Here we go!)
Blaine's point of view.
It's funny how fast life goes, huh? I mean, it feels like only yesterday when I was just a nerdy teenager desperately in love with the new kid. Now, I'm the nerdy grownup that married him. You know, new editions come with growing up too. That's right, Kurt and I are parents now. I have never loved Rachel more than I did when she agreed to be our surrogate. She gave us a beautiful babygirl. Is life with a new baby hard, yes. But we wouldn't change a thing.
Kurt and I were chilling in the living room. After Victoria's birth, time to ourselves is very limited. I knew it would only be a matter of time until-
"Aaaaaaah!!!" She woke up from her nap. Now, parental instincts are pretty awesome. It's like Kurt and I are superheroes now. The moment she cries, we're upstairs in three seconds flat. We made our way up the stairs and into her nursery. We peeked into her crib to find her crying and wriggling around. Kurt smiled and scooped her up."Good morning, little one!" he said in his usual sweet voice. This was enough to make her smile. Of course, I was smiling already.
"Someone slept well," I added. Tori gave a small giggle and Kurt and I cooed at her. Since she was first able to smile, our everyday routines are filled with giggles and embarrassing baby talk. Well, it won't be embarrassing until she says so. Then, we'll just embarrass her even more. It's our job as her fathers. Kurt got her bottle ready as I kept her company. I had her sat in my lap, bouncing and giggling away. I never expected parenthood to be easy; I don't think any new dad does. But its moments like these that I live for. Having my two greatest loves here with me, happy and healthy. Seeing them both smiling lets me know that I'm doing something right. And that's all I could really want. Kurt sat next to me, holding Tori's bottle. I carefully handed her to Kurt and he laid her down to feed her.
Kurt's point of view
I looked into Tori's little eyes as I fed her the bottle. She seemed to be smiling as she drank. I smiled back as I stared. There was so much innocence and love in those eyes. It's like she can see the good in everybody. That's a skill that babies have. They're the light of every parent's lives and she will definitely be the light of ours. I handed Blaine the empty bottle once she was done. I set Tori over my shoulder and pat her back as I burped her. Blaine cleaned her up when I loaded the dishwasher. Parenting has also made us realize how important it is to work together. Neither of us can raise a baby on our own and that's not the way we work anyway. It's always been him and I against the world and Tori being brought into it just makes our bond stronger. We brought Tori into the living room and got her settled in her playpen. Blaine and I watched from the couch. There was something special about just watching her crawl around and play. It's like she's in her own little world. It warms our hearts to see her so full of joy and wonder. When the three of us are together like this, it seems there's nothing in the world that can make us happier. Blaine and I gazed into each other's eyes. Sometimes, words aren't needed to express emotions. I say this because Blaine's silence spoke a thousand words, and mine spoke back to him. The sound of Tori's giggles filled the room and we couldn't help but chuckle ourselves.
"We did a pretty good job, didn't we?" I asked. Though Rachel did all the hard work, Blaine and I made sure that when Tori was born, she'd have a little piece of us too. So, she was born with Rachel's long, dark hair and bangs, which is quite long, my nose and Blaine's beautiful brown eyes. (AN: BTW, by "she'd have a little piece of us too" I meant that Kurt and Blaine put some of their DNA into the egg before Quinn gave it to Rachel. Idk how they did it, but they did and it's magical :)
"We did amazing," Blaine replied with a grin. "She's beautiful, Kurt."
"Well, you really have yourself and Rachel to thank for that," I said. Blaine sighed. Blaine wasn't having that kind of talk. He sat me in his lap and looked me in the eyes.
"No, Mister. YOU are the one that I have to thank the most. Rachel wouldn't have even had Tori if you hadn't married me. And...I probably wouldn't be here if you hadn't met me," he said and stroked my face. Tears formed in my eyes. Dammit, Blaine. "My life wouldn't be as perfect as it is right now if I didn't have you two by my side."
"I love you," I sniffed. He wiped my tears and smiled.
"I love you too." Tori made a loud squeal/giggle noise and we both turned to her. There was nothing wrong, so she was just trying to get our attention. Now she gets THAT from Rachel. We laughed and cooed at her. Blaine went over and picked her up. "Yes, Tori, we love you too!" She clapped and squealed adorably. We just stood there, in the middle of the living room, smiling at her.Blaine's point of view
I watched Kurt and Tori laugh as he played with her and tickled her. It was at this moment that I realized that I was right where I was supposed to be. Right here with Kurt and Tori. Nowhere could feel as right as here and now. Our little family is just beginning. Most men my age would be thinking about being the most successful, having the best car, best house. But for me? For me, nothing could ever amount to this. Because those things, they aren't what counts. The truth is, it's the little things.
