Chapter 8

POV Brooke
While we were walking up the stairs, some boy called our names. "Brooke Walker and Madison Morgan?" we both looked at him. "How do you know our names?!" I asked suspicious. "The general, our leader, wants to see you two." "We may have lived in the woods for 7 months or so, but we are not dumb you know." Madison was in her bitch-mode, she didn't like the boy very much. "You gonna tell us your name? Or do you want us to give you one?" Madison smiled sarcastically at him, I was trying to hold my face in a straight line but it wasn't going very well. "I am Jackson Woodley, but this is none of your business. You must call me sergeant Jackson. The general doesn't like waiting so hurry your damn fine asses!" We walked right past him, towards our dorm. We closed the door behind us and locked it. "I am using the bathroom first! Muhahahhah" I yelled while taking off my clothes. "I found us some new fresh clothes, they are army though. A black tank top with green cargo pants" I took the clothes and started singing. When I was done I heard yelling. I was walking out the bathroom fully clothed when I saw Madison yelling at two boys. "Let this be clear, we are both off limits. Don't you dare come closer than 2 feet." "Uhm what is going on here?" I asked awkwardly. "Well we must share our room with these two idiots." "Uhm actually there is three of us but Sam is a little bit late. Probably best for him tho" I simply nodded, I was trying to calm Madison but she wouldn't hear it. "What are your names soldiers?" a blonde handsome boy asked. "First of all we are not soldiers, secondly what are yours?" I asked them. "I am Cain and my friend over there is Hugo." "Well I am Madison and this is-" "BROOKE!!" I was spooked by the sudden noise. A boy was standing in the doorway with open arms to give me a hug. I was slowly moving away from him "Who is he?" I whispered to Madison. "Dunno" "Brooke? What is wrong with you, stop playing." "Who are you?" "I am Sam, you know that silly girl" "Wow back off, don't you see it, she doesn't recognize you." "I thought I lost you in that river, seems like I did." He seemed very upset. "Well this is getting awkward" Hugo said. Everyone gave him a 'stoptalkingrightnow' look. "I am going to change my clothes" Sam was suddenly hugging me and my first thought was getting him off so I gave him a knee in his sensitive part than I twisted his arm so it was on his back and pushed him towards the ground. "Brooke let go, please" he said very upset. I was pulled off of him by Cain and Hugo hold my arm to prevent me from doing anything. "You do not assault your teammates!" said Cain while he was walking towards me. I felt threatened, I was trying to get loose. "Let me go now!" Hugo heard the panic in my voice and let go immediately. I ran away from them towards the bathroom where Madison was and knocked on the door. "Hurry up mad" "Yo coming! Did I miss something" "let's just go and see the general" we left without saying goodbye. We were at the door of the generals office. "Come in" "We haven't even knocked yet" Maddison said. "He must have heard us coming" we entered the room and sat down. "Hello, girls?" "Yeah I can see your eyes are still working fine for a man your age" I said, I was done with being treated differently because we're girls. "Sorry, you are the first girls I see since the apocalypse. Well tell me something about yourselves. Madison you can start." "Okay, well I have lived in the woods for like three months with my family, well without my mother. She was killed by the virus. And now Atlas is the only one of my family I have left. He is an immune German Shepard. When the rest of my family was slaughtered I was alone in the woods for another three months, when one day I was passing a river and I saw Brooke in it. Atlas pulled her out and ever since we are traveling together. Well that was my oh so sad story. Can we hurry this up I need to feed Atlas." "Brooke your turn" "Okay, uhm I don't know much. I hit my head hard when I was in that river Madison mentioned. All I remember is my dad being a hitman. He also killed my mom before the virus could. I also remember surviving in the woods. Learning how to handle every type of gun but most important a sniper. Than a black hole till Madison finding me." "A sniper you said? Well that is something I can work with. Madison do you have any skills I can use in this war?" "Well I can work with a katana and I run very fast and long." "I see. Hmm let's see, you share your room with three boys; Sam is the medic, Cain he is one of the best warriors I have and Hugo is like Cain a very good warrior, your team leader is commander Diaz. I hereby order you to listen to him at all times, in combat but also while training. You should at all times be respectful to every soldier especially the ones higher in rank than you. Did I make myself clear?" "Crystal sir" we answered in sync. "Your training starts tomorrow after breakfast. You may leave now" we stood up and walked out of the door towards our dorm. "Well he definitely is something." I said to Madison "Yea he certainly is, well let's go and see what our team is up to" she said fake enthusiastically.
