Chapter 10

POV Brooke

Madison like totally freaked out, she had beenin the bathroom for a whole hour now. I was starting to worry. "Hey guys... andgirl I'm back, can't wait to go and shower after three surgeries." It was thatcreepy dude Sam. "Uhm well, Madison is in the bathroom, she is kind of upset,so if you don't mind waiting for a bit?" "No not a problem, I'll go knock onsomebody else's door." "Thanks" he waved and walked out of the room. Hugo andCain looked at me with a 'areyougoingtotelluswhathappened' face. I was alreadyavoiding it the past hour. "Look, I don't know what happened to you two at thatstore, and I know that Atlas is just trying to protect you guys, so if you wantto talk about it be free to do so." Hugo was an understanding guy but Cain alittle less. "Now come on, you have been giving us the silent treatment forover an hour now. I'm done waiting, wouldn't you be?" I nodded. "Sit downplease, I'll go get Madison." I walked over to the bathroom and walked afterknocking. I found her curled up around atlas in a deep sleep. I didn't want towake her so I just let her be. "Okay we have to do this without Madison. Pleasedon't freak out or do stupid things, that will alarm both Atlas and Madison andyou just don't want to do that." They nodded understandingly. "Well, uhm okay, I uhm- I mean we were, yeahyou know-" "Okay Brooke, breathe. It's okay you can trust us, pretend we arenot here." I nodded and closed my eyes. I immediately felt like I was back intime, back when it happened. "Okay, Madison and I were out looking for newsupplies, so we broke in some supermarket and split up, we needed to cover themost ground in little time. I had everything I needed when I heard a jar break.I was scared that she was attacked or she was doing some stupid shit, so Igrabbed my gun and made sure there were no cranks." I stopped a moment to easemy nerves. "When I was in the back of the store I found her katana, she wouldnever leave it behind. It was then that I heard voices struggling withsomething, they came from behind a storage door. I looked through the keyholeand saw three men, one guarding the door and two grabbing Madison and tying herto a chair. I was scared of what they were going to do to her. I saw windowsand decided to go there, smash it and shoot them. I was running as fast as Icould to get there. I smashed the window, jumped through it and then we wereboth fucked. I was pointing my gun at the head of what I believed was theirleader. But I had made a huge mistake, I missed one guy, he was in the shadowsand grabbed me. He turned my body around and punched me full strength in theface. I lost my gun so I had to fight my way out. I was trying hard but it wasimpossible with three men against me and one holding down Madison. They punchedme multiple times-" A single tear left my eyes "I was trying to break free, butI didn't succeed. They were all over Madison her body and trying to undress herwhile I was being held by their leader and being beaten, I couldn't help her.They were making sexist jokes all the time and I was done with it." Multipletears were streaming over my face, but the boys were nice enough to leave it alone."I remembered Atlas, so I yelled his name as hard as I could. He jumped in andI was able to break loose, I tackled the men standing over Madison, whichcaused her chair to fall in the action. She broke free as well. I grabbed mygun and shot their leader. I was so pissed, and I felt totally helpless, Idon't ever want to feel that again." I stood up and left to go to the gym. Ineeded to clear my mind, Madison does that by running. I used to do that byboxing. I didn't realize I was crying so hard when someone hugged me. I freakedout. "Let. me. go!" "It's okay, you are safe here." He didn't let me go. "Ijust want to be alone right now" I again walked away. When I was in our room Iwent for the shower. "Well now you know why we don't like to be touched" wasthe last thing I heard before I turned the shower on. I let the warm waterclear my thoughts and relax my muscles.
