Chapter 24

POV Brooke

"Okay this might sound too soon, but who's up for a partyyy? Nothin' too big, just some friends chilling and looking at the stars and all that kind of shit whilst getting high as fuck" "Danny, no one gets as high as you, ya crack head" I was listening to the squabbling of Danny and Tom. They were just hopeless. Madison let out an irritated groan. "Guess the food only worked temporarily?" she looked me dead in the eye and I tried to keep a straight face. "So you guys in?" "Sorry I have a late surgery guys" "I guess I could use a drink, how 'bout you Hugo?" he acted a bit conflicted "Well, I guess we do deserve that cold beer Cain. Do the princesses want a sweet cocktail?" "Madison? Is he mocking us?" I acted very enraged "You know what, I think he is" I grabbed my milkshake and Madison her leftovers and we planted it on the boys' heads before walking away like nothing happened. A fraction of a second later, we heard two indignant cries of the boys. We immediately started walking faster. We heard the moving of chairs and fast footsteps coming after us. We started jogging and soon running. Five more steps... three... "Mad close the door, quick!" "Best day ever! You always see dumb stuff like this in movies, but it felt even more awesome in reality" "You go girl. Let's go grab them some towels, we do kind of owe them that..." "Why do ya always have to be so kind?" "Mad I just threw my delicious unfinished milkshake on the head of a very cute guy. What is nice about that?!" We laughed and eventually Mad went to get the towels. I was looking through the little window in the door and saw two very angry and dirty looking guys pointing and shouting. "Okay I got the towels, but we must proceed with caution. Look at them. Wild animals in their natural habitat, feeling threatened. That is no good" "I'll open the door and you throw the towels in, okay? Than we run" I grinned and nodded. Madison mimicked the countdown and the minute the door opened the boys rushed in. "Retreat!" we laughed and split up. I heard her scream in agony when Cain tackled her after she ran into someone who scolded very loudly at her. I heard the loud thud of her hitting the ground. "Shit! You good Mad?" at least Cain felt guilty now. I still had Hugo to worry about, he had this crazy look in his eyes. He stormed at me. I ran towards the bathroom and grabbed the first thing I saw "Stay back" he looked from my bewildered face to the toothbrush and grinned. "How are you going to hurt me with a toothbrush?" I groaned, of course I had to choose a toothbrush. I took a step back into the shower and quickly grabbed the showerhead. I was standing with my back against the watertapthingy. I was focusing on the corner where he would appear. I didn't hear a damn thing, this guy was soundless. I was getting impatient and thought he had gone. I was about to leave and of course he took his chance and smashed the shower curtains away. I yelped out of surprise. "Let's wash off that milkshake eh?" I had this evil grin on my face and he looked rather confused. I turned the tap wide open and the water poured out of the showerhead. I aimed it at him. he got soaking wet but it didn't stop him. He got into the shower and turned it off. I tripped because of his sudden movements and the slippery floor didn't help me regaining my balance. I almost painfully hugged the ground if his strong arms didn't catch me first. I felt so awkward and cliché. He seemed to notice my uneasiness and slowly pulled me up. "Uh thanks" he smiled his perfect smile and I did not understand one word he said next. God those muscles. His white T-shirt was soaking wet and had become transparent. "Brooke? You there?" I broke out of my trance "Wuuut?" "Ya coming to the party tonight? This way you can make up for throwing that delicious vanilla milkshake at me and the showering part." he wiggled his eyebrows. "I don't knowwww" Hugo and I stepped out of the shower. "Bitch you ain't leavin' me with these two dorks. You, Hugo, Cain and I are all going. Even Diaz is coming." She pulled me out of the bathroom toward our beds. "Sooooooo you and Hugo eh?" "Well I don't know. He is cute, funny, hot and all but dating a squad member?" "Gosh gurl, you think way too much. We are going to that party and we'll see what happens." "Fine, how about you and Cain?" I saw her eyes lighten up. "Me and Cain? What about us?" "I know enough" I busted out in laughter and she soon joined me. We had talked for almost two hours when Diaz stormed in. "Meet me in the gym in 5" he closed the door on his way out. "Rudeeee" I punched Madison and got her on her feet. "Let's go get the boys"

We had only just opened the doors when Diaz broke the news. "I will leave in 20. You are on your own for a time, I can't get any more specific. Have fun tonight. Dismissed." He was acting weird, like he wanted us out. "Good luck Sir" we all said in sync. He smiled and waved us off. "Let's go and get ready for tha partyyyy!" we practically ran towards our closets, it has been a while since we felt like two 'normal' girls.

After about an hour we were all ready. We walked over to Danny's place and heard the music loud through the halls. Madison and I started dancing. "You guys call that dancing? Hugo and I will beat yo asses" "Will we?" Hugo got a look from Cain. "yeah we will, cuz we're great dancers." We scoffed and pushed them playfully aside. Danny was standing in the door and hugged us, clearly drunk. "How glad I am to see my favorite fluffy friends!" "Yea... right okay, I'll get us something to drink. What do the girls want?" "Pizza and beer" "Beer can do, pizza when we're back" Madison shrugged and looked at me. "Surprise me" Hugo got a creepy smile on his face and walked away. Cain was still standing with Danny and was clearly getting irritated by his touching and weird talking. "Mad, go on save him" I winked at her and walked towards the 'bar' and tried to find Hugo.

The last time I had checked my watch it was 3 am and the party was still going strong. Everyone was drunk. Madison climbed on top of a table and started singing along with dancing queen from ABBA. I maybe, probably, most definitely had a little too much to drink, so in a second I was with her on that table screaming the lyrics and trying to remember the steps. Hugo and Cain were laughing their asses off, but were up when the grease song came on. After all that dancing I was so tired. It was 4 am and my feet were sore. "Hugo can you please take me back, I have no clue where Madison went but I am spent." "She told you half an hour ago that she was about to go to her room. I guess you were too busy flirting with that soldier there." That last part he said with an accusatory tone. That soldier was gay and talking to me about how he liked Sam. I grabbed Hugo's arm and pulled him with me. When we were outside I punched him in the arm. "He was having girl talk with me, don't be so jealous. I am no slut." He looked surprised and happy at the same time. I started walking towards our dorm but Hugo stopped me. I was irritated that he was trying to stop me from going to bed. "Hugo seriously... I want to go to bed, I have no energy left to argue with you right now" he turned me around and looked me in the eye. I felt this warm tingly feeling. He came closer and kissed me. I felt his tense muscles relax at my touch and when we broke our kiss I could just look at him. He grinned and took my hand. I felt like I was floating, not like Danny; he was just drunk and high. When we got in the room Hugo kissed my forehead "Goodnight princess" "Goodnight big guy" when Hugo was out of sight I whispered to myself "BED, my dearest friend. I have missed you!" I bellyflopped on the bed and looked around in our room. I saw Madison smiling at me. She had this 'IneedagirltalkrightnowandIknowyouneedittoo' look and I groaned and knew I could kiss my bed goodbye for at least another hour.
