Phantom's POV
I saw her fumbling around in the darkness, trying to find a box of matches. She turned, hit her head on her dresser, and fell to the ground. I rushed towards her side, she was breathing but she had just knocked herself out. I sighed and picked her up bridal style and laid her down on the bed.
I brushed a strand of her long golden hair off of her face to reveal a large scar that ran from her temple to her chin. It was a deformity just like mine, it wasn't nearly as bad but it was still a deformity. I trace her face lightly with my finger, she is so beautifully unique in her own way. Her long curly blonde hair and her tanned skin. She stirred in her sleep and I pulled my hand back. A monster like me doesn't deserve someone as perfect as her.
I turn back towards the mirror and open the sliding door. I step into the tunnel that leads down to my layer and turn around once more to make sure she is okay. I dart back down the tunnel.

Pacing back and forth, I run my hands through my hair. How has this girl already entangled me in her spell. Her angelic voice and her fiery spirit. I must get my mind off of her. I stop pacing and quickly move through the dark tunnels I've memorized after living here for so many years. I take a left and push a button on the wall that opens a secret door. I step out and the door closes silently behind me. I am backstage where nobody can see me. I grab a rope and climb up it into the flies.
"My name is Leo, it's a pleasure to meet you Mademoiselle Yvette." I turn towards the voices and see Yvette standing talking to a boy. Anger starts to boil up inside of me and I clench my fists at my side. I turn and see Yvette climbing up the spiral staircase to the flies. A woman working in the flies? I mean, it does make sense. She is a lot lighter and agile than most of the men who work up here.
I watch her as that perv Buquet shows her how everything works. She gets the hang of it pretty well. Carlotta's voice booms through the theater and I cringe at her high pitch, Italian accented voice. Yvette is a much better singer than Carlotta. I walk over to a sand bag that is positioned right behind the Italian Diva, pull out my sword and cut the rope suspending it above the stage. I hear screams and see the ballerina's running around the stage in a panic.
"He's here! The Phantom of the Opera!" Little Meg Giry cries and I chuckle quietly. Carlotta throws a massive fit about how strange things have been happening for the past three years and walks off stage saying she isn't going to preform in the Opera. Finally, I breath a sigh of relief. I pull out a quill, ink pot and paper out of my pocket as I am about to write a note to my managers saying that they should consider Yvette as a star role when I hear a tiny voice start singing.
Think of me, think of me fondly
When we've said goodbyeI hear Madame Giry slam her walking stick against the ground and I walk over to the edge of the platform to see who is singing. I see a small girl with curly brown hair singing on stage. She looks so small and frightened. I suddenly recognize her as Yvette's younger sister, Charlotte.
Remember me, once in a while
Please, promise me you'll tryShe gained more confidence and straightened out her posture. Walking forward to the middle of the stage, she placed her hands on her diaphragm to control her breathing.
When you find that once again you long
To take your heart back and be free
If you ever find a moment
Spare a thought for meThe last note she hit was so high and sweet. She was such an amazing singer. It sounded as if she had already had so much practice and teaching, her voice was near perfect. I see the managers sweep on stage and compliment her. Soon, Charlotte is whisked away to get fitted for her costume. I hear someone sigh and I look down.
