Tom turned and stormed off towards the building. "Ashley, Ben, come with me." We followed him inside the hospital.
"Tom what are we going to do?" I asked.
"We have to leave now!" He said. We saw two fighters "Tell everyone to get packed and ready to go in an hour!" Tom commanded. They nodded and went off to do their job.
"I'll go tell Anne, Lourdes, and Matt to pack." I started to head down the hallway to the ER.
"I'll go with you." Ben said following me.
I stopped and turned to him. "No you have to tell your dad what's going on. I know you didn't tell him about you leaving."
"Me leaving?" His expression got sad, he knows what I am trying to say.
"I'm not going with you." I looked away from him.
"But Ashley-"
"Ben we don't have time to talk about this now, go talk to your dad!" I turned him around and pushed him a bit to his father's direction.
I jogged to the ER, "Anne? Matt? Lourdes?" I asked looking around. "Dammit!" I muttered, they weren't there. I left the ER and looked for Tom, then I saw Weaver.
"Do you know where Anne, Lourdes, and Matt are?" I asked him panting.
"They were collecting supplies downstairs, but don't worry I sent Jamal to get them." He answered.
"Ashley." I heard Ben say. I turned around. Ben, Tom, Maggie, and Hal walked up to us.
"We have reports of a breach downstairs." Tom said to Weaver.
"Ok then, split up and check it out!" Weaver commanded. We nodded and Pope walked up.
"I'll join you." He said. We didn't have time to argue so we split up in groups of two. Hal with Maggie, Ben and I, and Tom with Pope (a disaster waiting to happen).
Ben and I went towards the West wing of the basement. It was dark, the tunnel was just concrete and pipes. It was quiet expect for the sound of our boots as we slowly walked on the wet floor.
"This place gives me the creeps." Ben said shining his flashlight along the walls.
"Me too." I went closer to him, "What are we even looking for anyway?"
"I'm not sure. Anything out of the ordinary." We walked a little while then we heard people talking. When we got closer we recognized it was Hal and Maggie.
"Shh." I whispered "I have an idea." I smiled and Ben looked at me curiously but went along with it. We tiptoed to a corner and we heard Hal on the other side.
"What happened to 'I'm no good for you'?" He asked Maggie.
"I changed my mind." She answered. We heard Hal struggle to open a vault and then we heard tiny feet pitter-patter. The vault door slammed shut and Hal hit something about 15 times. I looked at Ben and mouthed 'Ready?'. He nodded and I intentionally hit the back if my book against the wall.
"What was that?" Maggie asked.
"I don't know. Lets check it out." They edged slowly towards the corner and right before they turned Ben and I jumped out.
"Boo!" We yelled. Hal instinctively put up his gun but put it back down after realizing it was us.
"Oh my god guys you almost gave me a heart attack!" Hal said holding on this his chest. Maggie was panting then smiled.
"That was a good one." She said laughing. We all laughed for a bit then I looked at what Hal must have been hitting and the smile left my face.
"What the hell is that thing?" I asked.
