Say Yes?: My Season 3 Premiere

Dear Diary,

Um, hi diary. I know I've been neglecting you since the "Sanctuary" fiasco, but I just found you in my old book bag and decided to write in you again.

Haha, Ben would probably laugh at the thought of having a diary; I'm not the type of girl to keep one. But anyway, let me fill you in on what's happened recently,

There is a new alien species here at Charleston! They're called the Volm and they landed after we demolished the weapon the Espheni was building. And you want to know the weirdest thing? They speak English! It was so odd, the Volm I met, Cochise, looked like us, but instead of skin, he had pale flesh. I know it sounds nasty, but it's not as bad as you think. I didn't get to talk to him yet, but it seems like we will have some sort of alliance with the Volm.

Now onto a subject that I love: Ben Mason. I don't think I have enough room in you diary to write down every reason why I love him. He's the most amazing boyfriend I've ever had. He's so sweet, funny, thoughtful, and he's the hottest boy I've ever seen. I can't believe that in a few months he's going to be a father. =) I can't wait for the baby, and I hope there aren't any complications. There is a doctor in Charleston, Dr. Marcus, says that so far everything seems fine, but he's worried that my spikes may affect the baby.

Ugh, I wish we had the technology to see him or her! I'm so eager to see the sex so I won't have to call my baby an "it". Ben wants a boy, but now that I think about it more, I want a girl.

"You want a girl?" I turn around and see Ben standing over me. I quickly close the journal.

"How long have been there?" I ask.

"Since you called me hot." He smirked. I put the journal in the desk drawer.

"I didn't know you had a diary." He moved out the way so I could get up.

"I wrote in it a few months ago, I just found it again today." I stood up from the desk chair and went to sit on the bed, but Ben took my hand and pulled me to his chest.

"You want a girl?" Ben asks again.

"Yeah, I think it would be cute to have a little girl running around." I smiled.

"Hmm."

"Hmm what?"

"What if she's all girly and makes you do her nails?" Ben chuckled. He knows I don't like girly things like doing make-up and nails.

I scrunched my nose "I didn't think of that. Are you trying to bring me over to wanting a boy?"

Ben gasped and looked hurt, but he was obviously faking. "I would never!"

"Ok." I laughed at him and he smiled, then his smile faded.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

He brushed a piece of hair behind my my ear. "I have something I want to tell you."

"What?" What could it be? Did something happen to someone?

Ben looked me in the eye and slowly went to one knee.

"W-what are you doing?" Is he doing what I think he's doing?

Ben took my hands in his. "Ashley, I love you with all of my heart, and I love the baby with all of my heart too. I never thought I would fall for you, but I am so glad I did! You make me see the error of my ways, and you keep me sane throughout this entire alien mess. I know I won't be able to get you a ring or a proper wedding, but I can't think of spending another day without you being my Mrs. Mason. So, will you marry me?" When he finishes he's out of breath.

It takes me a second to register what he said. Ben wants me to be his wife? I mean, I've thought about us being married eventually, but are we too young? What am I thinking? Who cares about how old we are? We already act like a married couple, so why not make it official?

I looked down at Ben and nod my head "Of course I'll marry you!" His face lights up instantly. He gets up and pulls me into a tight hug.

Ben quickly walks to the door and opens it "She said yes!" He yells outside and I hear cheering. The Mason family and friends came into the room. Tom was holding two wine bottles, while a few people had glasses in their hands. Tom put the bottles on the desk and gave me a big hug.

"I've always considered you a daughter, and now it's going to be official!" Tom's eyes were glossy.

"Aww Tom are you gonna cry?" I tease.

He shakes his head and laughs. Anne, Hal, and Maggie hug and congratulate Ben and I.

Tom hands me a glass filled with the liquid from the wine glass.

"I can't drink." I laughed.

"It's non-alcoholic." He assured me and I nod.

I walked over to Ben. "How did you know I was going to say yes?"

Ben smiled "Because I know you. But I was worried when you took so long to answer." He let out a big breath.

I chuckled "I was thinking that maybe we were too young, but then I realized we already act like we're married." I gesture around our shared room.

"Yeah, I guess we do." Ben puts an arm around my waist "Let's go enjoy our engagement party." He says before kissing my cheek and leading me to our group of family and friends.
