Chapter Twenty-Nine:

<><><><>

December 24th, 2013. - Christmas Eve.

My family and I gathered around our fire place watching the fire crackle drinking hot chocolate.

The Christmas tree was glistening against the fire, the angel tree topper shining bright.

Christmas was my favorite time of the year.

It's a time were my family puts aside our differences and acts like a family. We talk, we laugh, we enjoy being around each other and I couldn't ask for more.

If someone asked me what I wanted for Christmas I would tell them for my family to be a whole.

I placed my hands on my stomach smiling at Adrianna's movements, this Christmas was going to be absolutely perfect.

The only thing missing, was Princeton by my side.

<><><><>

Princeton's point of view.

My entire family gathers around my aunts tiny kitchen, cooking and singing Christmas carols drunk.

You know you've had to much to drink when my Great Grandma Sally starts a strip tease. By that time I've completely lost my appetite and downed a whole bottle of wine.

"So how does it feel to be a dad?" My aunt Theresa asked me setting the potato salad on the table.

"I don't think it will really kick in, until I'm holding her in my arms." I said smiling.

I grabbed the plates and silverware from my mom setting up the table.

"I'm going to be a grandma." My mother said hugging me from behind.

My family was supportive of A'Miyah and I, besides the fact that they haven't met Miyah yet.

"Well, when do we get to meet this lovely lady?"

"Hopefully tomorrow."

"She really is a lovely girl, but no father wants their son to be a dad at such a young age." My father said patting me on the back.

"Are you guys together?"

"No, we're not." I said walking around the table.

"Well, at least you're there for her, and little Adrianna." My aunt said smiling at me walking into the kitchen.

It was no lie that I didn't have feelings for A'Miyah.

Christmas was my favorite time of year, the only thing missing was A'Miyah in my arms.

<><><><>

A'Miyah's point of view.

I sat criss crossed apple sauce on the floor with my little brother sleeping soundly in my arms.

I pulled him closer to my body hugging him tightly.

I looked at his sleeping face smiling.

I wanted my little brother to stay little forever.

"A'Miyah, you're going to be a great mom." My mother said sitting down next to me.

"I know, you're father and I haven't been supportive of you or Princeton lately. But no parent wants their daughter pregnant at such a young age."

"You must know, that your father and I love Adrianna more than anything, and we can't wait until she's here, your fathers anger was never towards you.."

I placed a kiss on my brothers forehead looking up at my mom.

"Your father and I, we haven't been getting along lately, it's getting harder and harder, now don't get me wrong.. I love your father very much it's just not working anymore."

"Are you guys getting a divorce?" I asked pushing my brothers hair back from his forehead.

"It's in discussion, but your father and I think it's best if he leaves after New Years." I nodded my head letting Haiden's hair fall back onto his forehead.

"You're okay with it?"

"Mom.." I said grabbing her hand.

"I haven't seen you and dad happy in so long, I think this would be good. I think you guys need time to figure out what you guys want."

My mother smiled at me placing her free hand over my hand.

"I love you my beautiful."

"I love you too Mom, always."

I felt Adrianna kick my stomach her little foot pushing my stomach out.

"Look." I said grabbing my moms hand placing it on my stomach.

My mother gasped, I watched tears brim her dark green eyes.

"Oh, A'Miyah."

"I'm so proud of you, I know you'll be okay."

"We'll be okay." I said pulling my mom into a hug.

You don't realize how much your parents need you.

"Do you want me to come over?" Princeton spoke into the phone.

"No no, stay with your family everything's fine here." I said pulling my cardigan closer to my body.

"I miss you."

"I miss you too." I said smiling.

I picked at the end of my sweater, the cold air nipped at my skin but it felt good.

"Are you okay with it?"

"Yeah. The real question is will everyone else be okay with it?"

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be sorry, I mean it happens. I just know when I get married I don't ever want to be like my parents."

"You'll never be like your parents A'Miyah."

I bit my lip crossing my foot over my other one.

"I can't wait to see you tomorrow. I can't wait to see your face when you open your gift of a big fat nothing." Princeton said laughing into the phone.

"you're such an ass." I said laughing.

"It should have been my middle name."

"I agree with you."

I yawned, getting up from the porch.

"I'll see you tomorrow Prince."

"Until then Princess." Princeton laughed into the phone.

I laughed along with him, getting ready to end the call.

"A'Miyah?"

"Yeah?" I said opening the front door.

"It'll all be okay."

I pursed my lips shutting the front door behind me.

"Will it?"

The truth is.. I don't know if anything will be okay.

I don't know if my family will fall apart, I don't know anything anymore.

I wish I could look into the future, or reverse time and see and redo everything that happened or is bound to happen. But I can't.

And that's the worst thing about it, watching everything fall apart with your own eyes and not being able to do anything about it.
