(Sorry, it's kind of short!)

It took about 30 minutes to draw the blood and pee in that cup that I hate so much.

"OK, Alea. The results will be in in the next 2 days." She shook my hand as we walked back out into the main lobby area.

"OK, thank you Dr. Sams."

"No problem. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call the office."

"OK, thank you." I walked out of the building feeling a bit better. I knew the more I stressed about it, the worse off I'd be.

I felt my phone vibrating. I took it out of my purse and saw Sean was calling for like the hundredth time.

"What Sean!" I said angrily walking to my car.

"What Sean? Is that all you have to say? I've been trying to reach you all morning. Where have you been?"

"I've been living my life, Sean. What have you been doing?"

"What is your problem Alea?"

"No, what is your problem, Sean? You think you can drop a bomb like that on me and expect me to just pretend like everything's OK? It doesn't work like that."

"Alea, I'm sorry but I just didn't know when-"

"I don't care Sean. I don't care! Leave me alone." I hung up and got in my car.

He was so inconsiderate. What did I ever see in him?

After leaving the clinic, I decided to go home to get some rest. The next 2 days would some of the longest.

I was laying on my bed when a wave of bad thoughts entered my head.

What if Sean caught something from Bridget? What if Sean was one of Bridget's kids' father? Where would that leave me?

Quit it Alea...you're gonna' drive yourself crazy.

My cell phone started to ring. It better be an emergency..

I angrily snatched my cell phone.

"Hello?" I said with attitude.

"Ms. Alea?" A tiny voice said from the other end.

"Who is this?"

"Ryan, Bridget's son. I need your help really bad. My mom fell!"

The hell... "What do you mean she fell? What happened??"

He seemed to be speaking a different language, he was talking so fast. "She was in the kitchen cooking us lunch and then I heard a loud bump and I ran in the kitchen and she was on the floor. Please come help us! Tyler's not here! Neither is my dad!"

I got up frantically and threw on some clothes and shoes. "OK, I'm coming! Stay there! Wait, what is your address!"

"We live in an apartment. It's called Merylwood. The number on our door is 76."

"OK, hang tight." I hung up and dialed 911.

I told them the address and the situation. I ran and grabbed my keys and ran out the door.

I hopped in my car and tried to think of where Merylwood was. I'd seen it somewhere before. Damn it! Think Alea, think!
