"Sahara, do you accept Anna's invitation?" Grace asked me sternly, distracting me from the eye candy that stood not too far away in the form of a Harry Styles. "Err, yeah of course that will be lovely!"
"Great, we will see you Thursday afternoon then." Anna said in her posh voice. We said goodbye to her and met David Garnet next, a photographer who was interested in shooting for our next campaign. As we spoke to him I looked back to where Harry was but he was gone. I know it was silly, to search for him like a 12 year old obsessed and all that but I had been a fan girl long before I became a designer. As much as you like to pretend you're over that boy band, you're not. India wasn't as much of a fan but she always thought Niall was attractive.
Half an hour passed and I had given up hope in meeting Harry. Most of the guests had left but there were a few mingling around here and there. India was already chatting to some hot model whilst I managed to get myself stuck with some old critics who all had sticks up their arses. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around. Thank the lord for giving me an excuse to leave that conversation. And thank the lord for presenting me with Harry Styles because yep, he was the angel who tapped my shoulder. "You looked like you needed saving from that." He said, nodding towards the oldies behind me and half smiling. "Yeah are you like my hero or somethin'?" I joked, moving a loose strand of hair behind my ear and tryna play it cool ya know.
"I guess that saving lives is equivalent to saving people from boring conversations, so yes, pleasure to be your hero." He said with a cheesy smile and his hands behind his back. I laughed at how corny he was, he seemed almost nervous to meet me..?.. "I'm Harry, but I get the feeling you know that?" He smiled, holding his hand out to shake. I took it and nodded,
"Sahara, but I get the feeling you know that too?" I said, pretending I wasn't sure.
"I didn't actually, I couldn't tell which one of you was which." He laughed, referring to me and India. "Great show by the way, never would have guessed it was your first."
"Really? Yay thats good news." I saw India walk towards us and told her what Harry just said about the show. "Thank you, I guess that was the aim!" She said brightly to him. We talked a bit more about the show until we herd Grace call. "India come over here and meet Oliver! Tell him about your swimwear designs!" India excused herself and walked over. I watched them as they spoke forgetting Harry was there for a second. "Is everything all right?" He asked.
"Oh yeah. It's nothing." I shrugged.
"You sure? You look a bit troubled by their conversation." He stated.
"Eh, I don't know I guess it's just jealousy. It's childish." I replied, hoping that was enough but he didn't buy it. He gave me a 'come on that's not all there is' look so I continued. "It's just sometimes I feel Grace favours India a bit. Like, she won't stop going on about the idea India had for the swimwear collection and I mean yeah it was a great idea and don't get me wrong, I love India like a sister, but what about all the work I put into the designs?" I blurted all that out and all he said was, "Wait let me guess. Her idea was Christmas?" Completely ignoring the main dilemma here.
"No, that was Pablo's fault." I groaned, throwing my hands in the air.
"Damn it Pablo you had one job." Harry tutted.
"I know right!?" I laughed it off and he joined in but after we stopped I looked over to India and Grace. Just look at them obnoxiously laugh together with Oliver and his crappy scarf and their classy champagnes and heavy scented perfumes and ugh I feel shit again. "Hey don't worry about Grace though, at the end of the day both of your names are behind the label, not just India's." He said with a warm smile.
