(a/n: firstly, sorry this is super late and a little shorter than the average chapter but I like it a lot and I couldn't be bothered proof reading! enjoyyy xo)
"I've definitely been here before." I stated as we arrived at the entrance of Burg-R.
"Oh do you want to go some place else?" Rick asked.
"No it's fine I like the food here." I smiled stepping in and finding a table for two.
"The Chicken Lick'n burger's new." I mumbled as I read the ingredients on the menu. I was too busy trying to decide between the Chicken Lick'n or the Brave Beef burger so I didn't respond straight away when I heard him speak
"Sorry what did you say?" I asked after finally deciding on the Brave Burger. I'm feelin' brave.
"I just asked what's new?"
"Oh well nothing really, I've started the AW collection as you know but other than that nothing oh actually you know what the shoes I'm wearing are new!" I outstretched my leg from below the table for him to see but he laughed at me.
"I meant what was new on the menu. You said there was something new on it right?" He kept the glowing smile on his face as he asked, causing me to blush in embarrassment. Of course he was asking about the menu, like he care's about your shoes idiot. "Um the chicken Lick'n is new." I said before shrinking back into my chair. We ordered and began discussing work.
"So here's what I had in mind. I find our mensline needs a new flavour as the first season was very basic and monochrome." He said pulling out a folder and showing me pictures of outfits. "Look at Dolce and Gabbana's 2007 AW collection. These pieces are unique because they display colour in a very masculin way. I think we need colour in our shoes, and detail in our blazers and shirts. I was thinking of lining our blazers with a royal blue colour, it would be more striking and different yet sophisticated. And with the shoes, for some of our casual boots maybe a royal blue base to match?" He raised his eyebrows as he finished after being entirely absorbed in his words. I on the other hand was trying to figure out if he was gay or not. I don't know about you but I've never met a man who could talk so passionately about fashion and not be gay. I have nothing against gay people except for the fact that I can't date them. But striaght fashionable men are rare and even in my depressed state I will never miss an opportunity to man hunt (formally known as boy stalking). So if Rick ticks all those boxes than I am wasting no time in snatching him up before another girl does. Don't judge me, I'm hurting. I continued nodding with my fingertips resting on my chin even after he stopped talking before I realised I should probably contribute to the conversation. "Right yes well I agree entirely. The royal blue idea sounds magnificent, I can already picture it. However I think we should further explore other colours as well as play with a mixture of textures too. Also I want you to work on accessories, in particular hats. India and I have decided we want to bring hats back and make them big. We want to make the next 'it' item of the season and if the men can join in too, even better. I'll need you to have a talk with Wendy about it and brainstorm a few ideas. I'll get Rachel to book us an appointment for the four of us next week." I organised all the notes he gave me and made a few reminders in my planner before putting it all away in my oversized and overflowing tote bag.
"Hats. I like it, I can already see the bloggers and models sporting them and they haven't even been designed." He said smoothly. I swear that's a pick up line in fashion world right? I blushed slightly for some unknown reason and began nervously playing with my coffee cup, a small smile fighting its way through my lips.
"Was there anything else Rick?" I asked, checking my watch to find we still had quite a bit of time before our break was over.
"Nope, that's it. I'm glad we got out of the office, the fresh air is a nice change isn't it?" He said, looking around him at the decor of the courtyard. There was a light breeze this afternoon that was indeed quite relaxing and as Rick gazed around him, I couldn't help but admire how ... how perfect he was? Or at least how perfect he was for me. He was absolutely gorgeous, fit, smart, funny, sweet and my favourite thing of all, he understood fashion. I could already see myself gossiping about the latest outift disasters and trends with him, and getting his advice on which shoes to buy next and then snogging his face off. And then I realised I had gone a full 45 minutes without thinking about Zayn. Personal best. "So how've you been Sahara? Let's forget about work things for the last 20 minutes." He said looking back at me. I was afraid of where this conversation might lead to.
