Chapter 2 - 'She's a what?

*Emily's POV*

Someone walked into the cabin but I didn't move. I kept staring at the floor, my black hair covering my face. They didn't say anything.

*Percy's POV*

I walked into the cabin to Emily just sitting on her bed, she was in her swimsuit. I froze when I entered the cabin because she had so many cuts on her arms. It made me flinch at the sight of it, and she was only 14, so how could this have happened? (she was wearing a pair of shorts, but I couldn't help but notice that her legs seemed bruised as well.) Her arms were full of them but they seemed pretty old maybe 2 or 3 years old. I sat down beside her.

"Emily? Is everything alright?"  I said calmly. I didn't want to show her I was worried. She looked up at me.

"I- I am" she said and quickly got up and headed outside through door. I looked out to see her running to cabin 13. She's going to see Nico, not surprised.

*Nico's POV*

I heard someone knocked on my door then a faint "Nico?"  I jumped out of bed and ran to the door. She smiled and walked in. Hazel had just left to go see her friends, so we were alone for now. When we first met, she wanted to stay friends with me, I did too. But I was afraid that once she found out who my father was she would back away and not talk to me anymore. But that never happened.

"Nico"  She cooed. This also snapped me out of my thoughts. "Huh..? Yes?"   I asked. "Wanna go swimming?"

She added a smile, I loved her smile, it made me happy, but she didn't smile a lot. I understood why. I had the same problem. "Sure!"  I said returning her smile. It had been 2 years since she came to camp. But I felt there was something I was missing.

*Emily's POV*

I waited for a little while outside of his cabin. He came out five minutes later and we ran out to the beach. I suddenly stopped running because I was smelling a scent that felt like it was some kind of animal. It smelled like a deer but I couldn't figure out in what direction it was. Nico came up behind me and asked me if anything was wrong. I turned around but he seemed a little confused. 

*Nico's POV*

Her beautiful ocean colored eyes had turned to a bright yellow for a small second, I didn't understand how this could be possible. It had been 2 years that we knew each other and nothing like this had ever happened to her.

"Emily you ok?"   I asked, I was curious to what was making her eyes this way. "I'm fine. Why do you ask?" "oh.. no reason" I managed to say. She looked so calm, but she seemed very alert all of a sudden. She didn't have her cloak, maybe it was some kind of protection?

*Time skip 2 hours*

After quite sometime she went back to her cabin with her brother, Percy, but I on the other hand went to see Annabeth. I had some questions to ask.

*Time skip to Annabeth coz lazy author*

I arrived at Annabeth's cabin and knocked on the cabin door. She answered almost immediately."Huh?! Nico? What are you doing here?"  She asked confused.
"I have some questions for you, about Emily." Her face turned serious as she went to get her tablet. Letting me inside.

"What's wrong with Emily?" She asked curious. "Well I went to the beach 2 hours ago and she didn't have her cloak."  I started but she cut me off with a 'That's a first'.

"She stopped for no reason and her eyes turned yellow, I asked her if she was 'ok', and she said she was fine."  I continued, worried about my best friend. Annabeth sat down beside me and started typing on her tablet, she pulled out a tab called 'Werewolves'. I looked at her confused.

"Have you noticed anything else? Like was there an animal near by, or did she seem to be twitching?" She asked, as she read the article about the mythical creature.
"Yes, actually."  The girl lifted her head to look at me "Her nose twitched once, she looked as if she was sniffing for a second as well."  I said. Annabeth looked back down at her tablet.

"Well here it says, ' A werewolf  is mythological or folkloric human with the ability to shape shift into a wolf or a therianthropic hybrid wolf-like creature, either purposely or after being placed under a curse or affliction (e.g. via a bite or scratch from another werewolf), as a human they usually wear cloaks to keep them from transforming involuntary. They usually like places like the forests or mountains. Werewolves have a heightened sense of smell, hearing and eyesight. They are also faster and stronger than humans,  they hate when there is a lot of yelling or noise. Most of them have anger issues. Humans can be turned into a werewolf if said werewolf falls in love with them. On a night of full moon, the human has to be clawed or bitten by the wolf.' She then stopped and pointed out something that seemed important.

'To know if someone is a werewolf you'll want to get rid of their cloak and pay attention to their eyes or if you want something easier, they also have canines like the ones a wolf or a dog would have. If they are in a secluded area with a lot of people and a lot of noise, then they will start to panic and want to run away. They will transform as fast as possible to leave that area without to have killed someone, as they avoid it.'  She then stopped and looked back up at me

"There's your answer. Now all we need to do is hide her cloak" She then got up and headed outside "I might have a plan".
