*Emily's POV*
I had woken up to Percy shaking me awake. Yeah it was my birthday today but I didn't want to wake up. "Nooo... Mom I want to sleep.." I whined making Percy stop "So you're calling me 'Mom' now?" Percy said with a slight tone of sarcasm. I instantly sat up. "Huh? No." I looked up at him still half awake.
"Come on, get dressed we need to head to the pavilion." The boy said looking away to give me a chance to get dressed.
About five minutes later we left the cabin to be greeted by Piper along the way, she was daughter of Aphrodite goddess of beauty and love. "Emily! You have to let me do your hair for your birthday please!!" She said giving me a pleading look. "Uhh" I answered, not wanting someone doing my hair. "Fine?" I said questioning my decision. Piper smiled at me and ran off the Aphrodite cabin.
Once we arrived at the pavilion, Nico came to set a reminder that we were spending the day together. I reassured him that I didn't forget and started eating breakfast.
Once we had finished, Nico and I headed to the training arena to train for a couple of hours. Once we had arrived there I realized not a lot of people were there. Usually most of the Apollo kids were practicing bow and arrow, and some of the Ares kids usually practice one on one combat but maybe not even half of all those people were here. But I shrugged the thought away as I held the Triton shaped charm I had on my necklace.
Later on, once we both had finished with training it was about time for lunch so we headed to the pavilion. I sat with Nico since the Poseidon table was full. Which is really weird.
"Hey, Nico?" He gazed towards me. "Do you know what's going on? Everybody's acting strange, except for you." I mumbled the last part to myself. He put a hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry about it." he said, making me relax.
I felt as if someone was watching me, so I glanced around to notice Leo. As soon he noticed that I caught him he quickly looked away with a slight shade of pink on his cheeks. I could hear Annabeth talking about some kind of party they were planning. I didn't like parties, so I decided to ignore them. Nico then taped my shoulder snapping me back to reality.
"You alright?" He asked. "Huh? Oh yeah I'm fine." I answered as I got up from the tables. "I'm going to the beach, wanna come?" His eyes widened as he grabbed my wrist "No! You can't. Uhh c'mon we'll watch a movie in my cabin" I didn't have a chance to argue, he had already dragged me to his cabin.

*Nico's POV*
I dragged Emily over to my cabin. She couldn't go to the beach because the seven and a few other people were planning her birthday party. It was about one in the afternoon and I had to keep her busy until about 4. So I decided to watch two movies, I had the perfect ones. Once we stepped inside the cabin she asked me what movie I wanted to watch, of course I said 'finding nemo' she loved that movie, just like her brother. The thing I didn't understand is that Poseidon kids are captivated by those kinds of movies and act like five year olds. It's pretty adorable.
She looked at me with a big smile on her face. She sat down on the couch waiting for the movie to start.

Emily had fallen asleep on my shoulder which I thought was cute. I shadow-traveled over to the beach to go see Percy. "Yo! Nico! Where's Emily?" He asked. "She fell asleep so I came to check on you guys." I said, I wanted this to be perfect for her since it was the first time she had her birthday here.
"Yeah everything is going great, you did an amazi-" He suddenly stopped and looked behind me so I turned around to see Emily coming towards me with angered look on her face. "NICO! Why did you leave me alone in your cabin?" She asked putting a hand on her hip. "Well I uh-Surprise?" I said as, as she looked around her expression softened.
"You guys did this for me?" her voice cracked she looked like she was about to cry. "Well yeah any- MMPH" She cut me off by kissing me, it took me a few seconds to realize what was happening before I kissed back putting my hands on her hips to pull her as close as possible. We could hear Piper fangirling in the back.
She slowly pulled away. "Thank you" I smiled at her, she smiled back. "Anything for you" I said.
We partied the rest of the night. Probably the best day of my life.

*3rd POV*
Emily and her friends had a blast at the party there was music and dancing.Let's go back in time and find out why Emily hates birthday's so much.
When she was little, about five, her mother married a man. (NO REALLY?!) Every time, every year, it was her birthday he would give her a beating. Until her mom came home. She never told anyone else about her birthday until this year which, she never actually regretted.
The seven, Emily, and Nico now had a week before they were all sent off to school. What could possibly happen?
