Sarah Ruth decided she needed to come to school. No matter how much she hates it, no matter how much stronger it makes the pain, she needs to. She knows the crying will probably happen again, her heart will probably break more. But Sarah Ruth is trying to make herself understand that this is going to continue happening, and she needs to learn to control her emotions better. Which is going to be very hard. As soon as Sarah Ruth enters the school, she has an uneasy feeling. Like something bad is going to happen. Yeah, something bad happens to this girl everyday of her life. But right now she's feels on edge, she can't even think straight. But it's not like she can on the regular anyway.

She feels a hand rest on her shoulder and she almost screams, but she quickly turns around to see Corey. He looks pretty pissed, and Sarah Ruth thinks she knows why. "What is up with you? He asks. Yep, he's beyond pissed. But can you blame him? His best friend has been ignoring him for days now. Sarah Ruth doesn't say a word, instead she turns back around and continues to walk towards her locker. In order for her to move on from something she needs to ignore it, but Corey is making that hard for her. Since he keeps showing up at her window and constantly calling her, it's going to be impossible.

"Sarah Ruth wait!" She can hear Corey's loud fast paced footsteps boom throughout the hall. She panics and runs into the girls bathroom, but soon is grabbed by some one and slammed into the wall. Her books drop to the ground, and she slowly opens her eyes. There stands Missy Clayton with her hands pressed to Sarah Ruth's shoulders, and she's pressing hard. Sarah Ruth winces in pain, but Missy starts talking. "Listen up you bitch, Corey won't stop talking about you. I'm trying to get into his pants and you're making that difficult by taking over his god damn mind! So what you're gonna do is take you ugly ass to Corey Haim and tell him straight up that you don't want to be friends anymore. Okay? Okay."

Sarah Ruth is left in complete shock, she's basically frozen. At any moment a girl could come out of a stall and see what Missy is doing. Missy shoves Sarah Ruth away from her grip and walks away. Sarah Ruth gathers her things before exciting the bathroom. And there stands Corey, and Missy is by his side, and by the look on her face she wants Sarah Ruth to talk to him now. Why now? Sarah Ruth takes a deep breath before approaching them. Corey was going to say something, but she cuts him off, "Corey, I know I've been avoiding you lately. And there's been a reason. I no longer feel comfortable around you, I no longer want to be around you. So please stop calling, please stop coming to my window. And please stop being me friend." It pains Sarah Ruth to say this.

She can feel another piece of her self fall off as Corey looks at her with complete pain in his eyes. "Oh my gosh Corey, are you okay?" Missy asks this as a tear rolls down Corey's cheek. Why did it hurt him that much?
"No, I'm not," Corey storms off and Missy can't hold onto his arm, but she chases after him. Then, Sarah Ruth feels the tears form in her eyes. "No," she whispers. Not now, she can't right now. There's too many people. She doesn't want anyone to see her, she doesn't want any attention drawn to her.

Her world is falling apart more and more, soon there's going to be nothing left. The bell rings and she curses, she's officially late to first period. Sarah Ruth run to the class room and knocks on the door. Her teacher opens it, and her teacher doesn't get mad. It's like he knows something.
Mrs. Wallace had to have told him. And probably all the other teachers. Great, now they're going to treat me like I'm some depressed girl.

Sarah Ruth knows she has problems, she knows that the way she feels and the way she acts needs help. But she isn't going to get it, she's determined to figure it out herself. And anyone would know that that is not going to work.
The first class goes as usual, the teacher talks, Sarah Ruth ignores. Before she knows it the bell is ringing and everyone is rushing out the door.
