Corey grabs ahold of Sarah Ruth's hand as they walk down the hallway of the school. He leads her to the short empty hallway no one goes to between classes, and she feels the wind being taken out of her as he pushes her against the brick wall and kisses her. Corey pulls away with a cheeky smile, "Good morning Sarah Ruth." She blushes, still stunned by what he had just done. "Good morning Haim." His hands press against her cheeks, pulling her towards him and kissing her soft lips once again. "Better get to class," he says. She nods, and follows close behind him as they go back into the main hall. The butterflies Sarah Ruth gets for that boy grows more and more by the second. And I'm one snap of a finger her whole life could just fall again. The thought scares her.
She walks into her home room with a smile on her face, and the teacher looks at her like she's crazy. Corey Haim is about the only person who has seen Sarah Ruth happy, or bubbly. "Well good morning Sarah Ruth," she flashes another smile at her teacher. Class goes on and the only thing on her mind is Corey. The thoughts about him are a lot louder now that he's showed such affection. "Earth to Sarah Ruth! I love that you're happy, but you still need to pay attention." She giggles, making the whole class stare at her with wide eyes. She shrugs it off.
The bell rings, and Sarah Ruth scurries out of the crowded class room. She runs around the corner in the direction of her locker, bumping into people along the way. Two hands grab ahold of her shoulders and slam the fragile girl into the lockers, a gasp being sounder from her. "Shit," she mumbles, her eyes crinkling in pain. The hands are still gripping her small shoulders. She finally opens her eyes to see Missy, what the hell?
"What part of stay away from him do you not understand?" The two girls who never talk, but follow Missy where ever she goes, snicker from behind her. "What?" Sarah Ruth is very confused, didn't she take what she wanted and leave?
"Oh, you know what," Missy's hands detach from Sarah Ruth's shoulders. "I don't," Sarah Ruth answers honestly. Missy rolls her eyes harshly, "I took Corey's virginity, you didn't. So, I don't know, maybe back off?" Sarah Ruth stutters a bit before finally getting some words out, "He doesn't like you any more. You left him." She shrugs her shoulders, "They all eventually come back."
Missy snickers before leaving Sarah Ruth confused and stunned. "Bitch," Sarah Ruth says. She continues to her locker, but her mood kind of went down a bit, sadly her next class is going to have Missy.
Sarah Ruth was about to head to her next class from her locker when Corey grabbed ahold of her waist on one said, making her spin around in panic. She smiles at him, "Hey Corey." He doesn't say a word, instead he takes the books out of her grasp and shoves them back into her small locker. "What-" he yanks her down the hallway and out the double doors, no one seeming to notice nor car. "Please explain."
Corey laughs and starts walking away, "You'll have to see." She laughs and speeds walks to catch up with him. "Are we going to the woods again?" Corey shakes his head at her question. "It's a surprise," she groans. Corey picks Sarah Ruth up bridal style and she squeals. "What on earth," she says, directing it at him.
A few minutes later Corey puts her down, and they begin walking and talking about random things. Sarah Ruth's doesn't bother to bring up the Missy issue. They have been walking, and Corey has lost his way. The two sit on a random curb next to one another, his arm wrapped around her shoulders.
Sarah Ruth's breath hitches she sees Missy and her two slaves making their way towards them. This just isn't realistic.
Corey doesn't even try to get away, he actually stands up and takes a step forward. Missy snakes her arms around Corey's waist, pulling him closer, "I know you still love me. You did kiss me today after all." Sarah Ruth becomes wide eyed, "Corey is that true?" He stutters over his words. "She kiss me!" He says, and Corey's telling the truth. But, he did kiss back.
Then he came back to reality and pushed her off, but right now he isn't sure what to do. "Why did I think I had a chance?" Sarah Ruth asks her self, but Corey and Missy hear clearly. "Um, I'm not sure. You're the depressed fragile good girl, why did you think you had a chance?" Corey pushes Missy off of him and tries to hug Sarah Ruth, but she takes a harsh step back, "No, Corey."
His face becomes pale, he knew how sensitive Sarah Ruth was, and this is going to destroy her. Without hesitation Sarah Ruth's goes running in the opposite direction towards her house, ignoring the many yells from Corey. Once she thinks she far away enough, she stops, finally letting the tears spill. "Would you stop crying?" She yells at herself, a girl across the street looks at her oddly before walking away.
Her head is down when she hears a car screech to halt, and she looks up. "Shit," she says when the sight of her dads car is in front of her. He gets out of the car and opens the passenger seat, "Get in-" "Dad I'm sorr-" "I'm not mad, now get in." She looks at him confused, but then sees the red face and puffy eyes.
He's been crying.
Sarah Ruth gets in the car and her dead speeds off, "Dad, what's going on?" He ignores her. Driving even faster, honks and yells coking from the people on the outside. "Dad, tell me." Tears fall down his face, curse words being said under his breath. She drops it, seeing he isn't going to be telling her.
She becomes even more confused when he pulls into a hospital parking lot, "Dad, why are we," she stops talking. "Where is mom?" Everything goes silent, her dad even stopped crying. Like she finally figured it out. "Where is mom?" She yells. Her dad gets out of the car, telling her, "Come on." The two run into the hospital, she follows close behind her dad. Then he asks a question that just answers Sarah Ruth automatically.
"Where's Racheal Johnson?"
