[CHAPTER FORTY THREE]

I felt a sea of anxiety deep down. I could feel my nerves tingling like being tickled with a small feather. I opened the front door to see Brad leaning against his car, a smirk plastered across his face.

"What?" I grunted, unimpressed as I crossed my arms over my body.

"I'm going to make it up to you." He promised me, adding a wink to the end sentence. "For being such a dickhead lately-"

"Where?"

"You'll have to wait and see." He added, before opening the passenger door. "It will be a surprise."

"I'm not too sure if I like your surprises." I admitted truthfully as I slowly shuffled towards the car.

"You'll enjoy this one." He pressured his arm on my shoulder, helping me get into the car before rushing around the drivers side.

"Where are we going?" I asked for the umpteenth time, sighing. Brad slightly grinned at me, his eyes glancing to look at me and not the rood. "Watch the road-" I exclaimed.

My eyes jolted opened as I took notice of the car stopping. I lifted my head, running a hand over the pink crease marks lining. My cheek while narrowing my eyes at what was in front of me.

"What are we doing in a park?" I asked.

"We're going over there." He announced, pointing in the direction in front of us.

"I can't see anything." I mumbled. "Just empty land-"

"You'll have to wait and see!" He said.

"Brad, I hate surprises!" I suddenly snapped in annoyance.

"I realised." He grinned cheekily. "But, you'll love this one."

"If you know I hate surprises, why won't you tell me whats going on?" I complained. "Why are you torturing me with all of this suspense?"

"I'm not torturing you." Brad laughed. "You're just overreacting."

"Stop laughing at me!" I whined. "Why are you laughing at me?"

"Because you're cute!" He stated.

"Go away!" I muttered, shielding my face with my hands.

"Let's just go, yeah?" He said. I nodded my head in and agreement and we walked through the park. We walked for what seemed like forever, until suddenly I could see something.

"Oh my god Brad." I whispered, my voice almost silent.

"What do you see?" Brad asked with a smirk.

"I...I can see ice and-" I stopped and gasped. "An ice rink in the summer?"

"Told you it would be a good surprise." He announced smugly, nudging my arm.

"We're going ice skating in summer?" I said in disbelief. Brad nodded as we walked to buy our tickets. After bickering who was laying for the tickets Brad agreed that, he is the one paying for everything due to him wanting to treat me - even though, I felt incredibly bad for letting him.
