[CHAPTER FIVE]

Four days had passed since I last saw Brad and Arabella. I patiently waited for his text, pleading for my help however I received absolutely nothing.

However, my messages weren't blank. I had been spending every minute of these four days responding to messages from James.

I couldn't help but feel tense as the called ID for 'James McVey' appeared. I slammed the bedroom door closed, allowing myself to have privacy to answer the call.

"Hello there." I chuckled lightly.

"Hey!"

"Did you get bored of typing a message?"

"Calling is so much easier and anyway I get to hear you voice!" He announced cringly.

"What would you like me to talk about then?" I giggled nervously as I played with the ends of my hair.

"What are you doing Friday night?"

"Nothing as far as I'm aware of."

"Great, keep eight o'clock free as I'm taking you out for dinner. So if Brad asks, you can't look after Arabella!"

"Dinner?" I exclaimed.

"It will be my little treat for you."

"Oh no James, I can't let you do that. You don't need to take me out for dinner."

"You're right, I don't need too. I want too as I want to get to know more about you as a person. Not just you're Brad's neighbour and Arabella's babysitter from time to time!"

"I'll have to see-"

"What's so wrong with two friends going out for a nice meal together?"

"Nothing?"

"Exactly, so eight o'clock?"

"Sounds good to me!"

"Text me your address and I'll pick you up."

"It sounds like you have everything planned already."

"You'll learn that I'm a very organised person!"

"That's alright by my books." I flirted confidently which surprised me as a few weeks ago I would have never have dared flirting with another boy.

"There's one condition to this meal."

"And that is?"

"You can't cancel on me!" He said firmly. "Nobody cancels on me,
James McVey."

"I'll be ready for you at eight o'clock this Friday night!"

"See you then!"

A huge squeal escaped my parted lips as soon as the call ended. I was going out for a meal with James, a boy has I only met four days ago but felt myself growing more and more attached to him.
