One week ago, Alya dragged her into her room and introduced her to a form that let her spend fourteen days with the love of her life.

She didn't know she'd end up in this situation.

It wasn't like she regretted ever being with Adrien, because, so far, he was nothing but sweet to her this whole time. It wasn't like she regretted ever answering the form or Alya telling her about it, because she knew Alya would never let her best friend sign up for something she wasn't comfortable with.

In fact, she didn't blame anyone, not even herself. All she had to blame was Chéyenne and her wicked money scheme.

"I'm sorry I dragged you into this."

She turned to look at the blond boy who was sitting across her, knees hugged to his chest and his beautiful green eyes not daring to meet her gaze.

"It's okay.", Marinette replies, "It's not that bad, anyway. As long as we're not hurt, we're gonna be alright."

That first part was a lie. It was that bad. She didn't get anything to eat for almost 48 hours now. She was hungry. Thirsty, even. She knew Adrien felt the same way, too.

"I never should have given her the idea."

Marinette's breathing halted at his statement. "What do you mean?"

"It was... Two weeks ago, I think, when we were having a photoshoot at the Seine.", he starts, "I was blabbing on to my bodyguard about the meet and greet ticket competition I joined for Jagged Stone's contest. Chéyenne was walking right beside me. She said it would be a good idea for my 'fans' to spend a few days with me, following the same scheme that that competition had. I knew she was talking money, but I never knew that we had to go this far. It's all my fault."

"Hey, you didn't know that it'd end up like this.", Marinette tries to soothe him, reaching over to his shoulder and rubbing it in comfort.

"I never should've said anything about that around her in the first place.", even in dim light, Marinette noticed that his eyes started to water, "Any possible money-earning process that came out of my mouth would end up a reality, as long as she knew she'd get something out of it."

Marinette didn't know what to say. She looked at the boy in front of her, taking in everything about him. He was vulnerable - so was she, but he was just as vulnerable as she was.

They both didn't know what to do from that point onwards.

"Get up."

Adrien felt a foot come in contact with his rib, making him groan in pain and obey the man's command. Marinette heard Adrien's pained groan and woke up almost immediately.

"Adrien! Are you hurt?", Marinette asks worriedly, rushing to his side. Adrien waved his hands to reassure her that he wasn't badly hurt. It would probably only bruise, anyway.

Another man pulled Marinette off the ground and she kicked and squirmed to get out of his tight grasp. The man growled at the small girl.

"You stay put, Mademoiselle, or you'll make things worse between you and Monsieur Adrien.", the man snarled at her, making her stop at once.

The two men took the teenagers to a room where Chéyenne awaited with a video call to Gabriel Agreste. The men tied them down to chairs and wrapped their mouths in a thick fabric, which prevented them from speaking.

"Hello, Gabriel!", Chéyenne smiles brightly, greeting him once he answered the call, "How are you doing?"

"Chéyenne, where is my son?", Gabriel ignored her greeting and her question and went straight to the point. His voice echoed through the silent room and Adrien knew that he had never been so thankful to hear his father's voice.

"Oh, he's in safe hands.", Chéyenne smiles sweetly, turning the phone so it was directed towards the two teenagers who were tied up to chairs, eyes wide and pleading towards Gabriel.

He saw how his son's usual clothes became so unkempt, and he swore his eyes almost watered at the way their eyes practically begged him to get them out of there. The bags under their eyes proved that they lacked sleep. His heart broke at the sight of his son like this, and the sight of the girl who had been dragged into this mess.

"This is just a quarter of what I will do to ruin you, Gabriel.", Chéyenne retrieves her signature smirk, "Ever since you chose that do-gooder over me."

"Je jure devant Dieu, I will inform the police of your cruel actions, Chéyenne!", Gabriel snapped at the redheaded woman on the othe side of the screen.

"Oh, Gabriel, I'd like to see you try.", Chéyenne ends the call and turns to Adrien and Marinette, then to the two men behind them.

"Get them out of here.", Chéyenne barks, "Now."

"I knew there was something behind that competition, and that despicable woman's behavior."

She nodded in his direction in agreement. "It just shows that Chéyenne Méprisable is untrustworthy, sir."

"Nathalie, track down Adrien and that girl he's with.", he turns to his executive assistant who stood across the room. She nodded and obeyed immediately.

Nathalie's tablet blinked and it provided a map of the location of both Adrien and Marinette. She walked out of the room to inform Adrien's bodyguard, leaving Gabriel Agreste to himself.

He stared at the wall filled with pictures of his son. "Why did I ever agree to let them take you away?"
