"Nathalie!"

The raven haired woman sprinted down the hall in haste. Gabriel barked out orders to her and sent her an address via text. She nodded curtly and jumped into the nearest car, dictating the address to the driver.

"3672 La Coupé Rue, in front of the rundown patisserie." She said quickly, "We have to get Adrien Agreste."

Marinette could hear her heart pounding heavily against her chest. It seemed to echo throughout the warehouse, making her more and more vulnerable as time ticked forward.

A loud, crashing sound made Marinette jolt up in her seat in fear. One of the buff men that got her here had his hard glare over her, making her cower at the sight of it. She backed up in the chair as far as she could, and he threw some kind of ticking device on the barrel in front of her.

"So you can talk with your lover boy." He explained briefly, with an additional grunt, before turning around and exiting the building. He closed the door in such a harsh way that it made her jump.

The device kept on ticking at every second.

Great, just great., Marinette thinks sarcastically to herself, Now I get to be more tense. Hallelujah.

"Marinette?"

Adrien's soft voice echoed throughout the warehouse. It broke as he called for her name and it broke her heart knowing that he was in the same state she was in. When she didn't answer, Adrien continued.

"They said that I could talk to you with this." He muttered. Despite their situation, Marinette could imagine him furrowing his eyebrows in confusion and it made her giggle as she imagined how cute it must be. "They lied. Or maybe the damn thing's broken?"

"Relax, Adrien. I'm right here." Marinette reassured him, inching closer towards the device. She felt the need to go closer and hear his voice as much as she could before her impending death.

"They-- Chéyenne said that my father had thirty minutes to get one of us out of here. It's either you or me. Once the thirty minutes are over, the warehouses we're staying in will be blown to bits." He told her. It didn't matter if Chéyenne would make him go through a living hell if he told her this; he was already in hell just by being apart from Marinette. "I want him to choose you."

"I know you'll be their choice." It had already dawned on Marinette and she knew that his father would choose his own son over her. She bit her lip, knowing that she probably won't make it out of this. She stared at the device that displayed the time and it showed that she only had sixteen minutes left to live.

Adrien had gone silent.

"Marinette?" His voice echoed throughout the warehouse.

"Hmm?" She hummed in response, making her presence clear to Adrien.

"I can tell you anything, right?" He asked her. His voice cracked. He was more than ready now than on any other time.

"Of course, Adrien." Marinette mirrored his soft tone. She was scared. He was scared. They would probably never see each other again.

"Do you know what I have learned within these eight days?" He asked. Marinette bit the inside of her cheek to suppress a laugh. She rolled her eyes instead, knowing that Adrien can't see her.

"You're asking me this now?" Marinette almost laughed.

"It's a yes or no question, l'amour." He chuckled from the other side.

"Hmm, okay, I don't know. What was it?" She feigned curiosity. These were the last minutes of her life, anyway.

"That I lo—"

Adrien was cut off by someone entering the warehouse, frantically calling his name. He was pulled away by Nathalie and into a car, cutting his and Marinette's conversation short. Marinette's eyes wandered over to the device and saw that she had two minutes left before she would be blown up to bits like Jojen Reed's body in the third season of Game of Thrones.

Marinette sighed.

Goodbye, Adrien.

Just as she was about to close her eyes and accept the sealing of her fate, strong arms wrapped around her and she felt the wind course around her. She looked up to see who took her.

It was Gabriel Agreste.
