I put my head on Jyn's shoulder and I heard her fall asleep, me soon following her.
"Jyn, if we're caught we will be screwed," I said wearily. The two of us were looking at an Imperial ship that was guarded by some troopers.
"Oh, it'll be alright. All you need to do is get to the controls and hack into the system. I've got your back," Jyn promised. I nodded, excited that I'll be able to get off this planet. Naboo was beautiful but it was not part of the plan, we simply crashed here after there was a mechanical problem on the last pod we stole.
Jyn took out her blaster, me following her lead, and after nodding, she moved around the corner and shot most of the troopers down, me shooting the rest. We quickly ran to the controls and I started to type away while Jyn stayed behind me. I was in the middle of hacking when I realized Jyn wasn't behind me anymore and was yelling over her shoulder at me to run. I quickly grabbed my blaster and scrambled up, running with my sister. I was only a little behind her when she turned left onto the small streets of the village we were in. I tried to keep up with her as I was the faster out of the two of us but when I tried to catch up, I didn't realize there was a basket in the road and I tripped over it. I landed straight on my face and I cried out my sister's name.
The other troopers caught up and one roughly grabbed my arm, hoisting me up onto my feet. I saw Jyn look at me with a sad look in her eyes before turning back around. At first I was sad about it but I realized that if she tried to save me she would also be arrested. The trooper holding my arm dragged me to the others and asked what to do with me.
"Just shove her in the ship that's delivering the prisoners to the pit," the other said and that's what happened to me. The troopers were paid by the pilot while iron cuffs were clipped onto my wrists and ankles and I was roughly shoved into a tightly packed passenger ship. I sat down in the last seat available which was the closest to the exit located at the back of the ship. I worriedly bit my lip and I kept grabbing my hands which did not help the bruises and rashes that were forming.
The ship took off with a jolt and I was pushed into the wall. I groaned slightly before readjusting and looking around. The walls were lined with people and the middle had benches that were also filled with people. "Um, excuse me, sir?"
The guy next to me looked at me and grunted.
"Do you know what the pits are?" I asked innocently. The man next to me laughed heartily in a crackled, broken way.
"It's a killing zoo, little girl."
The newbies were placed in groups of five and then it continues like before but the bets are bigger because everyone is a new face. The four I was with were all different sizes. One was big and burly, the other was short and fat, the third man was tall and lean, and the fourth was very skinny and muscular. When we were thrown into the pit, the first one and the second quickly grabbing a knife, the third grabbed a staff, and the fourth grabbed two batons out of the three so that left me with one baton. I've seen Jyn use one before but I always thought I wasn't strong enough to tackle hand to hand combat, except now I realize that I would have to get better at it real quick.
Before we were put in, they explained the rules, let us pick our weapons, and took off our shackles before throwing us in here. I looked around, seeing that everyone was preoccupied with someone else so I cowered over by the gate. Finally, everyone was done and there was one left, the muscular one. He threw his weapon aside before he charged at me, probably thinking me too weak to be a challenge. I quickly moved to the side and stood still again. This man's weakness was his size and ego. He had strength but not endurance so I was going to use that against him.
