Ahli'ee Erso had not remembered much of her parents except for the day when she lost almost everything. From that day, she remembered the earthly smell that was her father when he embraced her and her older sister, she remembered her mother's voice and her soft eyes as she stopped her sister and her before leaving the two to try and save her husband, and she even remembered how small she felt when Jyn grasped her hand and ran both of them to the cave. Ahli'ee lost everything that could resemble a normal family except her older sister by two years, who vowed to keep the younger girl safe.

As the two girls grew up under the care of the rebel extremist, Saw Gerrera, they quickly learned the harsh reality of war and that the future was never reliable nor predictable. Still, it didn't hurt any less when Saw left the sisters abandoned, leaving the two girls to fend for themselves again. At least they still had each other, and that's what really mattered to them.

But the girls were struck with more unfortunate events and the girls found themselves separated. Jyn and Ahli'ee had gotten involved with some trouble and were running through the small streets away from the Imperial forces. Jyn was in the lead and thought her little sister was right behind her but when she heard a voice call out her name, Jyn realized that her sister was instead sprawled out on the ground and being picked up by stormtroopers. Thinking there was nothing that could help Ahli'ee, Jyn turned around and kept running while her sister was cuffed and walked away. Jyn had never stopped feeling guilty about her decision, thinking that her sister would never forgive her, if she was still alive since their crime was considered a major offense.

Ahli'ee was alive though, just imprisoned that differed from all the prisons Jyn found herself in. Instead of a basic prison or work camp, Ahli'ee, who went by Li, was sent into a camp where she had to fight other prisoners for the Imperial's entertainment. At least once a week, Ahli'ee was sent into a pit with a bunch of prisoners and fought to the death. That was her life for three years and then a major change in the young girl's life occurred again. Rebellion forces raided the prison under the pit and asked each prisoner if they wanted to fight for their cause and gain their freedom. Ahli'ee, wanting to escape her prison and get revenge on the people who took her family from her, was quick to join but still used her new identity.

Ahli'ee quickly came to the attention of the generals since she was able to find out information quickly and seemingly effortlessly so she was sent on solo missions to retrieve information frequently. Although, she was very resourceful in central command for her natural ability at strategy when there was a major battle. Everyone noted how the young girl seemed three steps ahead and had everything where she needed to get soldiers out safely. Ahli'ee was very popular among the rebellion yet she kept to herself and kept her past a secret from everyone.

The girl who often found herself not following all rules strictly thought she was done with drastic changes when she joined the rebellion but she didn't understand how wrong she was until after it happened, and in the company of none other than Captain Cassian Andor.
