Ace's POV
Fifteen minutes after Sophie arrived people started flowing in like the Niagara Falls. I kept having to go open the door to let people in. The boys and I made a rule, whoever's house the party is at is who has to open the door. It makes since.
But with all the people showing up and walking around I lost Sophie.
I glance around and find Jaxon. "Hey!" I shout over the music that Hunter is playing through the speakers.
"Hey!" He smiles and looks over at me.
"Have you seen Sophie?"
"Not since she got here," he says and shakes his head.
"Okay. Thanks anyway." I walk throughout the house and can't fun her any where. Maybe she went upstairs. I climb the steps two at a time. In the spare room there is a light on. I open the door and a couple is having a heated make out session. I clear my throat and they pull away. "If you guys came here to make out, the door is down stairs."
"And who are you?" The guy says trying to act tough.
"The guy who threw this party and this is my house. Do you need me to show you to the door?" I keep my face blank and my arms crossed.
"Whatever," he mutters. He grabs the girl's hand and leads her downstairs.
I shake my head. I only have two rules at my parties. One: do not go upstairs. Two: do not bring alcohol and drugs. I lock the door and close it so no one can get in it.
Where the heck is Sophie?
The song that was currently going stops. "Ace Faris, come down to DJ Hunter. Ace Faris, come down to DJ Hunter."
I roll my eyes and make my way down to 'DJ Hunter'. He is an idiot. "What?" I ask once I'm in front of him.
"I heard you were looking for Sophie."
"Yeah, I have been. Do you know where she is?"
"She's probably in your room."
"My room?"
"Yeah. She's been in there for over an hour. Then she came down here and talked to me a few minutes then left."
"Okay. Thanks, Hunter!" I refrain myself from running upstairs. I finally get up there and stand in front of my room. The light is on and a voice is talking, but it is too quiet for me to hear it. I twist the knob and it is locked. I unlock it with my key and open the door. Sophie looks up at me. She's hanging upside down on my bed. She tries to get up, but falls in the floor. She scrambles to gets up and fixes her clothes.
"Hi."
"How did you get in here?" I ask her and close the door behind me.
"A bobby pin," she answers and sits on my bed. "I like your dog." She grins and scratches him, who just so happens to be laying in my bed. "I think he likes me too."
"Hunter said you have been in here for awhile." I state and sit at the end of my bed.
"I'm not much of a party person. Too many people. But I have a new best friend now." She grins.
I raise my eyebrows. "Who would that be?"
"Max."
"My dog?"
"Yep!" She pauses. "He is a very good listener."
"What did you tell him?"
She looks down at her hands. "Anything and everything. Things that I don't have anyone to tell or are afraid to tell them."
"I'm a good listener."
"Maybe I'll find out for myself one day."
Someone knocks on the door bringing both of our attention to it. "Hey, Ace! Some college guys just showed up!" Micheal's voice says.
I stand up and so does she. I open the door. "Have you seen them before?"
"No, but they look like they are looking for someone." We start to walk down the stairs when Sophie stops.
"What is it?" I ask her.
"I know who they are," she mutters glaring at them.
"Who?"
"My brother's friends." She walks ahead of me and stops in front of them.
"Look who it is," one of them say and they all grin. "Sophie. I've missed you."
"I hope you choke on your own spit." She tells him.
"Always have been feisty."
"And you have always been a scared little boy."
He glares at her. "I don't know what your talking about."
"Why are you here?" She crosses her arms.
"I'm here for you," he smiles.
"You're wasting your time."
"Why is that?"
"Because."
"Because why?"
"Because you will just get rejected again."
"Ooh!" I hadn't noticed a crowd had started to form around us.
He glares at her. "I'll see you later."
"No. You won't."
"Aren't you going back to your house?"
"Not until you leave."
"Where are you going to stay? You don't have any friends."
"I'm staying here."
