"Hmm, do you want me to walk you home~?" I offered, taking a glance at his backpack.Hyun responds with a sweet laugh and shook his head. "I can't possibly making you stay out this late, it'll be quite dangerous too." I huffed, my neutral expression fading into an annoyed glare.
"I'll bring a knife if I have to!" I said defensively, pouting.
Another laugh came out. "You're cute." He ran a hand through his silver hair with one smooth stroke, a toothy grin placed on his lips. Heat came in contact with my cheeks, turning flushed. "This was actually really fun."
I nodded in genuine gratitude. I had did better than I thought-- I thought this would've been long and awkward but it was quite the opposite. "Likewise. When shall we meet again?"
His response was immediate, "How bout tomorrow, same time?"
This took me by surprise. I widened my eyes, had he enjoyed it that much? "Really?"
"Ya," He answers, the corners of his lips curved upwards slightly, which made me feel proud.
I didn't really have any other close friends other than Willow because I just don't choose to talk to other people. I knew there was a feeling deep inside that was probably excitement, and it was from Hyun.
Not only was he super nice, but he was also really, really, really attractive. I couldn't help but take a few glances at his face from time to time. [idk why i added this paragraph lmao but i felt the need to praise his beauty]
"I'll text you," I tell him, opening the door for him. He exits the apartment with one last smile toward me and a 'see you' before I closed the door.
I decided to clean up after the 'study' session. Feeling lazy, I just took the two mugs and set them on the sink without washing them.
The flannel was still somewhat wet and had stuck to my skin.
I headed to my room afterwards to pick the comfiest but most ridiculous looking pajamas, a piece of underwear and a towel. Carrying my items, I made my way to the bathroom and undressed myself, hanging my towel.
* * *
A half an hour later, I came out of the bathroom, letting the hot steam pass through. I entered my room once again, dropping off my laundry, including the towel.
I grabbed my brush that lied on my bed and ran it through my dripping and tangled hair. While doing so, I turned around to face my bedroom door, jumping and shrieking at the sight in front of me.
"Mom! You scared me..!" I yelled, crossing my arms in annoyance.
She gives me her rare grins, "Sorry, honey. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to scare you."
I playfully rolled my eyes, returning her grin. She simply sighs, pulling her [h/c] hair out of her styled hair. "Did you like my pancakes this morning? I was in a rush."
"It was good," I answered, nodding. "How was the meeting? Your meeting must have been really important if you needed to leave before 7:00..?"
"Yeah, it was," She agreed, gritting her teeth. She looked tired. "I had a meeting with the chairman of C&R. I'm sure you've heard of them. I also met his son, he's three years older than you, actually."
I gave her a weird look. "Cool..? I don't really pay attention to that type of stuff."
"Funny thing was.." Her voice trailed off, staring at the floor lost in thought. "The chairman was quite flirty with me. I was kind of uncomfortable.."
I examined her expression, noticing how unhappy and weird she had looked. "Then bring me there and I'll tell him to back the hell off!"
My mom takes a deep breathe, "It's not that simple, [Y/N]. This deal is quite important, and refusing him is going to be hard." A smile creeps back up the her lips. "Plus, the son was nice enough to defend me. I was very grateful."
I hummed in response, not knowing what to say.
She continues to talk, her palm rubbing her forehead. "I just hope I don't have to deal with him tomorrow... I read a lot of articles of him dating multiple women. His son was a pleasure to talk with though."
"Mom..." I started, trying my best to sound serious. "I think the son is a bit too young for ya, don't you think?"
I bursted out laughing, in result she glares at me. "[Y/N]! Inappropriate!"
"I'm kidding!" I tried to say between laughs. My laughter eventually calmed down. I decided to change the subject since talking about work got boring. "Did you see the storm earlier?"
She lets out an exhausted sigh, "Yes.. It's still going on. It wasn't as strong as before, but it's still going."
"Really?.... Shit," I cursed out, my thoughts immediately going to Hyun. He was going out to walk home in the dark while a storm was occurring. "The person I'm tutoring... he's walking home."
"... He? I didn't know you were tutoring a guy."
I rolled my eyes.
Seriously, mom? The first thing you think about is that?
I felt guilty knowing he was going to have to walk in the cold like that.
"Oh..." My mom finally said, shaking her head. "I didn't realize what I said, sorry."
"If it helps, I found a guy lying on the bus station near the library. I assumed he was homeless, actually, so I kind of doubt it," She informed me, shrugging her shoulders.
"What did he look like?"
"Well.." She looked up at the ceiling to think. "He had red eyes, that's for sure."
"Okay, thanks," I say, lowly, picking up the phone on my bed. I immediately texted him.
Hey, did you get home okay?
I didn't know the storm was still going on, I'm so sorry T_T
I tried to keep it casual, not wanting to come off as clingy.
Yup! Thank you.
It's no problem.
I gritted my teeth, reading his texts. I formed a confused expression.
Is red a common eye color? Of course not. Who else could possibly have the same vibrant eyes as he did?
I smacked a palm on my forehead. "Whatever, I'm sure he's okay." I looked up to my mom once again. "Are you going to be here in the morning?"
She bites on her bottom lip, a look of guilt plastered on her face. "I hope so."
I sighed. "Okay... It's been a long day. You should rest."
She nods in response, turning to face her room. "I will, thank you. Good night."
. . . . .
