[ Saturday ]

I took a step into the living room, blinking my tired eyes a few times. My eyes immediately went to the TV, as my mom was watching it.

"Good morning," I manage to yawn out, stretching my back. I haven't slept this well in quite a while.

My mother noticed my presence and immediately grinned. "Morning! Breakfast is in the kitchen," She chirped. "It looks like you've slept well."

My lips curled into a friendly smile, "I did."

I lazily made my way to the kitchen, checking the counter to see what was for breakfast. Eggs Benedict. I took the entire plate, assuming she already ate without me.

On my way to the living room, I simply grabbed a fork and sat myself down next to my mom. I glanced up at the TV before taking a big bite.

"What's so interesting?" I questioned, my mouth full of food.

My mom offers me a weird look, "Manners, darling. I'm just watching the news."

I shrugged and continued to eat, the sound of the weather man echoing throughout the living room.

"Do you want to do something today?" Mom blurted out, her voice stern. She sighed. "I just.. I mean, we could go to the park-- or I could search for a good restaurant around here on Noogle..?"

I take a moment to process her facial expression. She looked almost guilty.

I swallowed my food and tilted my lips upward into a comforting look. Out of kindness, I wanted to decline, but part of me wanted to go out with her since it's been such a long time.

I opened my mouth to say something, but she interrupts me once again. "I've been wanting to spend time with you for a while now, and today's one of those rare days I finally can."

I chuckled. "Likewise. What do you want to do, mum?" Shrugging, I take another bite of my food. "I don't really care what we do."

She gazes off into the distance to think, "Maybe we could just roam around town, maybe go shopping?"

"That's fine," I said, nodding. "Just make sure to check if the weather's alright.."

I took the last few bites of my plate and then set them on the table out of laziness. My mom sighed at this and then looked back at the TV.

The weather man was finally explaining today's weather. It turns out that today's weather was perfect. Sunny, slightly windy, a bit chilly but still warm enough to wear a skirt.

Mom and I exchange looks, mirroring each other's playful smile.

She stood up, and took the remote to turn the TV off. "Sounds like a plan. Let's leave at 12." She said before heading to her room.

I looked at the clock. 9:36.

I brought myself to my feet, leaning down to take my plate and bring it to the sink.

Afterwards, I took a shower and planned my outfit.

12:33

"Oh!" Mom exclaimed, her eyes immediately lighting up at the sight of a cute sweater. "How bout this one, it'd look good on you~"
