So you know that computer designation that announces when a League or Team member leaves or enters the Mountain? Yeah, I obviously had to make one up for Katie. So I'm probably stealing some other character's my bad, but I don't really feel like spending twenty minutes trying to find one that hasn't been taken already... So yeah.
Katie's POV
I'm packing a bag, Jason, Dick and I are spending the weekend at Mount Justice. I hadn't seen the Team for a long time, almost 3 weeks. Sometimes, that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. It can get really crazy, but never the less, I was excited. Maybe we'd have a mission this time. Weeks could go by without one, then we'd miss a week of school because some villain is cooking up trouble. But that's the price you pay for saving everyone's ass repeatedly.
I zipped the backpack up and skipped downstairs, pulling on a jacket as I went. Of course, half way down I realized I'd forgotten the backpack. Durp much.
I ran up the stairs and grabbed it. Somehow I still got down before the boys.
"Come on guys! We're going to be late!" I called upstairs.
"Coming!" Came the combined reply.
I decided that I'd meet them in the car and soon enough they joined me.
Le Timeskip to Mount Justice
B12, Zero. B01, Nightwing. B13, Robin.
The computer announced our arrival and the reaction was immediate. Zatanna tackled me in a hug. I stumbled backwards, straight into them. Thankfully we didn't crash into anything other than Dick, as he steadied us before we could knock something over. When Zatanna turned her attention to her boyfriend, Artemis waved, but looked unhappy for some reason. M'ghann greeted me with a gentler hug.
Zatanna kissed Dick happily as I walked with M'ghann floating along next to me and Jason following awkwardly behind me. Of course, he was the youngest on the Team, and despite being polar opposites, he and Kaldur had a strong friendship.Jason searched the room for his friend before spotting him and walking over to him.
"How've things been M'ghann?" I asked as we went to the kitchen. The two of us shared a love for cooking and baking.
"It's been great! How've you been?"
"Pretty good. Alfred taught me something new..." I said mysteriously.
"What?" I loved keeping her in suspense, the way she got excited over things that generally, as humans, we'd overlook. I rifled through my backpack for a minute before pulling out a cookbook.
"It's a muffin recipe."
"Oooh! I've never made muffins before!" Her genuine joy was infectious, making me smile.
"Do you want to try it out?"
"Yes please!"
The kitchen became a mess of flour and a few eggs landed on the floor. But we weren't worried, it was easy for us to clean up what with one of us being able to use magic and the other, telekinesis.
We put the muffins in the oven and started to put the rest of the kitchen back the way it had been.
Once it was in working order I sat on the counter followed by the martian.
Ding!
"They're ready!" M'ghann exclaimed.
Using her telekinesis, she pulled the tin from the oven and set the individual muffins on the cooling rack.
