Katie's POV

Jason's been missing for six months. SIX MONTHS!!! I can't take it much longer, I feel like I'm the only one even trying to find him! I ran off, Roy followed. My life has been slowly falling in a spiral of chaos and fear, and there's nothing I can do except look for my brother, who might not even be alive!

It's tearing me apart, that and the fact that I literally left everyone behind.

My phone starts to ring and I glance at it. It's Pixie Boots. Well, that's what my phone says anyway.

"Dick, Hi."

"Hey Katie, listen I've got a lead." I know I said I felt like I was the only one, but my search is constant. Everyone else only follows a lead if it comes up.

"Really?!"

"Yeah, it's Arkham."

"We tried there already, Dick. You know that."

"I know, but trust me."

"I do, it's just he wasn't there the last two times."

"Not in Arkham, he's in an abandoned wing of the Asylum, to the west."

"Alright, I'll check it out."

"Call me in if you need backup."

"I will. Bye."

"Bye."

I hung up.

"Roy, we got a lead."

"Where to this time?"

"Arkham, I know we already checked but-"

"Katie, I'm not going on another wild goose chase to the Asylum."

"You're giving up?!"

"I can't- won't put myself through that again. He was my brother too. I'm done Katie. I'm sorry."

Tears were pricking my eyes. My only battlefield ally was leaving me. He didn't think we could find my brother. It made me want to scream.

"Roy Harper! You were the only one who stayed with me on this! Now you're leaving me to do it on my own?!"

"Listen, Katie-"

"No, you listen! If he really was your brother, then you wouldn't give up like everyone else!
Please, I swear, if this turns out badly, if we don't find him. Then you can leave, then you can give up. One last mission Roy. Please, help me find him."

"I'm sorry. I can't."

"Fine, leave. I'll find him by myself."

I stood in my costume for a while, before deciding to leave my cape. That just wasn't part of me anymore. I didn't idolize any hero anymore, I'm my own person. I don't need to mimic them anymore.

I slid on a brown leather jacket instead, leaving it unzipped. I knew there was a gun in my room, hidden under the mattress. I grabbed it, if it was who I think it was that took Jason, someone was going to die.

I left right after, alone for the first time in over two years.
I know that Dick told me to call him, but I'd be fine.

Jason's POV

Everything hurts, even breathing. I don't know how long I've been here, but it's definitely been too damn long. My life is abuse. Someone should've found me by now, Batman, Zero, Nightwing. The list goes on and on.
