Almost two months had passed since the first day of school. During that time, Alfred pretended to stop being Jack's friend three or four times and Jack snapped and attacked Mary, in the toilet. He didn't remember doing it, but Mary told him what happened. I also discovered that I had anxiety, and things didn't get awkward between me and Harry. Looks like we could still be just friends.
But the best thing that happened to me was when I decided to forget Charles. Jack helped me to come to the conclusion that I would only get hurt if I loved him.
Back to the story, it was Thursday, and in one of the lessons I sat next to Mary. She was really pissed off about Jack.
"Remember when he was talking about his idea to do a videoclip with us and Alfred? He only asked him if he wanted to be a part of it. Sometimes it just seems that he doesn't care about our opinion."
"He didn't ask me anything, but I think that he would respect our opinion about stuff."
"One thing that annoys me is that he can't keep a secret. He told you that I liked Josh and Ross."
"That's true, but I already suspected that you liked them, even if it wasn't true."
"Isn't there anything bad that you see in him?"
"I just think that his and Alfred's friendship is a little abusive. He sometimes puts pressure on him and Alfred pretends to hate him, knowing about his mental illness."
"I don't think that he has any mental illness."
"Huh?"
"What's the name you give to those people that hear about a disease an think that they have it?"
"Hypochondriac? No, he's not that."
"Are you sure? You know what? I think that we should give him our opinion about things."
"Well...ok. What could go wrong?"
"We'll find out soon..."
The bell rang and we got out of class. I spent the break with Jack and a little voice in my head just kept asking "Is he faking his mental illness? Is Mary right? No, I have to trust Jack. I am used to get my expectations low about people, but if you want attention you won't cut yourself and say that you have mental illnesses. Besides, he's my best friend."
I decided to tell him and Alfred my opinion about their friendship. Maybe they could get closer and happier. I was trying to help. Besides, what could go wrong?
In the next day, Mary was mad at Jack and Alfred wouldn't talk to him. Looks like I fucked up.
I hope you enjoyed the chapter. I'm almost catching up with Jack's and Harry's POVs. Please check them out too.
