XXIII-When Peaceful Times Stop...

Peace... Don't you love when you can hang out with your friends, not having any problems or fights, just being in totally peaceful?
Well, this might sound a little odd, but sometimes those times are a little bit boring. Like, nothing happens. And during those peaceful times, you just hope that anything happens, and when they do, you wish that you never asked for it.
That's how this day started, a normal day, just me and my friends hanging out. To be honest, not all of my friends. As I might have told you before, Jack, Pearl and Alfred had a little gang now, so it was really hard to spend a break with all of my friends. And as fine as me and Harry were, we both knew that our friendship could never recover from everything that had happened.
So when I say that I was hanging out with my friends, I essentially mean Alan, Brian and Charles. Yeah, that's right, my old crush. I think that I realized that as much as I try to get over Charles, a part of me will always love him.
But back to the story, I was hanging out with my friends and we were all messing with each other, and then me and Brian started to do something that we had done for a long time. We would just joke with each other, and say some ridiculous insults. It was obvious that we didn't mean anything that we said, but as we did that, Charles and Alan started doing the same thing. It was all fun and games, until Charles started saying:
"Brian is a hermaphrodite."
I don't know how that started, but it was something that Charles started to call him since the beginning of the year.
Then Alan started to say the same thing, and I think that Brian felt that we were all against him, so he just got sick of it.
"You know what, why do you do this all the time, you know that these insults aren't funny, right? Just stop!"
"Then why do you do you do the same thing to us if you don't like it?" Alan asked "It just doesn't make sense."
"Because I like insulting you, but it's not funny when you do it."
"Ok Hermy." Charles said
"You know what Charles, I'm out of here. Fuck you." After he said that, Brian just took off.
"I think that we might have pushed him a little too hard..." Charles said
"Don't worry, Charles, he'll come back, he always does. And don't you think that he was being a little hypocritical?"
"I do, Daniel! Like, he doesn't want us to insult him but then he insults us! He's being such a hypocrite!"
"As I say, chick stuff. He's behaving like a girl."
"He might be Charles, but to me it kind of looks like he's gradually getting away from us. I bet that he's with the jocks right now. Like, he's moving on, and that just makes me feel bad, because if you all move on, I'll be alone. I miss Margaret, at least she knew how to keep us together." I meant every word that I said, it just looked that Brian was getting sick of us. Was he really mad?
I got the answer to that question during drama class. We were preparing our lines for our presentation, so we were allowed to use our phones and I received a text from Brian telling me that we owed him an apology and that he was sick of being called an hermaphrodite and picked on by his own friends. He also threatened to stop spending breaks with us if we continued to annoy and insult him.
I tried calming him down, but he just said that he was going to get out of our school because he had to meet new people.
D: Brian, I just continued with the insults because I thought that you didn't mind. And you also did the same thing.
B: I told you that I hated those insults, like, a million times, and I just did the same thing to feel better. And it gets annoying when you're the only one getting insulted. As you see, nobody cares about me, and nobody would mind if I left this place. Nobody cares about me! If I left, Pearl and Jack would be really happy, you, Alan and Charles would think that the most annoying person had left and everyone else wouldn't mind because they don't know me!
D: You know what, fuck them all, and I would be like that! If you left, I'd feel devastated! You're one of my best friends and I'm sorry if I insulted you, but I thought that you didn't mind with the insults. I didn't mean anything I said! You and Harry are the people whom know me the best, but if you think that doesn't mean anything and that I don't care about you, then there's nothing I can do!
B: Actually it does mean something, but sometimes I just get so angry that I can't see the good side of stuff. And I just feel that people are excluding me lately because they don't like me anymore. But congrats, you were one of the few people that made me cry, not of sadness, but of happiness.
D: I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings...
B: It's okay. I just want to be at peace once in my life. I don't want to be mocked anymore, I don't want to be that person that doesn't fit in. I just hate myself...
D: You're joking, right? You're the person of the gang that fits in at more places. You spend breaks with the jocks! Some of us only have each other in this school!
B: Sometimes I hang out with them because I think that it's good to be with other people. You can't imagine how bad I felt during that break.
D: Yeah, I understand how you might have felt.
B: Why don't you start hanging out with different people? I won't talk about you because you have Harry, but Charles and Alan are always doing the same things. I feel totally out of place. I feel that I've been replaced by Pearl.
D: I miss Margaret, I think that she could keep us together.
B: Okay, Daniel, I'm sorry because you're the one who knows me the best. I don't want to get mad at you because you're the only one that can make me happier sometimes. I don't always value you, but I promise that from now on I'll change my attitude.
D: I also promise that I'll do my best not to hurt you.
Well, I know, what happened wasn't that interesting, but I had this feeling that something was about to happen. But nothing would happen, right? We were having that peaceful time. Well, I liked being like that, but as I said, I wished that something happened, because peaceful times are too normal, and they always bring something bad.

So yeah, I decided to write this chapter about Brian and other stuff. You might think that this is just a filler, but I promise you, this chapter is just the beginning of something. I hope you enjoyed it and I'll try to update soon.
