9:36 pm
Rafael got home about half-an-hour ago, but I still couldn't think of an excuse to leave at 10 at night. Fuck. I texted Nevada to see if he'd try not being a little bitch and just leave me alone.

I can't think of an excuse and I don't want to lie to Raf anymore.

Rafael was in the shower and I was sitting on the couch, organizing a bunch of files he'd left on the coffee table. Beep.

I'll call you at 10, family emergency at the hospital. See ya soon niñita.

I sighed and looked at the time, 9:48. The shower stopped and my heartbeat did as well.
He walked out and leaned against the doorframe of the bathroom. He was in his usual pajamas, sweat pants and t-shirt. "I'm gonna go to bed early. If you want, you can order takeout or something."
I looked up and nodded at him, noticing my chance. "Actually uhm, would you mind if I head out and pick something up? Just to get out of the house."
"Sure," He smiled and vanished into the bedroom. Rafael was too good for me, and all I did was lie and sneak around.
I grabbed my keys and phone and headed out. I hadn't even bothered changing out of my skirt and button up from earlier. Ring ring.
I answered the phone as I left the front door of Rafael's apartment building, "Don't bother, I'm on my way."
"Good, instead of the pizzeria I'll come pick you up."
I could hear his smirk through the phone. God I just wanted this night to be over amd I hadn't even seen the guy.
"Okay, where?"
He hung up but before I could look up I heard a honk and seen his black car pulling up in front of me. Dude.
"Join me niñita." He was leaning across the passenger seat and staring out at me with that smirk of his.
I groaned and pulled myself into the passenger seat, slamming the door behind me. I crossed my arms over my chest and looked straight forward as he pulled off. "What do you want?"
"We're going to a party dear, good thing you didn't change out of your fancy little outfit." He took residence on my left thigh with his hand.
I looked over at him, noticing his usual black leather and jeans was replaced by a suit lacking a tie. Wowie.
"I have to be back before hell freezes over Nevada." I rolled my eyes and leaned my head against the window, why was I doing this again?
He laughed and tighten his grip on my thigh slightly. "We'll only stay a moment, long enough for everyone there to know what a niña bonita I've caught under my wing."
I scoffed and pushed his hand off my thigh, "I'm not yours, Nevada."
"Aren't you?" He glanced at me and laughed at my disgusted look. "Just act like you like me for the night, got it?"
I nod and look out the window, watching buildings fly by as we drive. The buildings start to slow down as Nevada pulls into the parking lot of a nice looking building.
"Isn't this place a little upscale for a drug dealer?" I watch Nevada as he sucks his teeth and shakes his head.
"You can't be talking with that attitude in there niñita." He smiles as he parks and gets out of the car.
I follow his lead, getting out and into the building. He puts his arm out for me to take, the same way Rafael did.
"Shall we?"

-------

I hate to admit it but I actually had fun, we danced and laughed and I felt like I'd known the people there forever. Nevada and I were sitting at a table laughing with a few of his buddies and their dates when I excused myself to the bathroom.
I was washing my hands when a dark-haired fairly tall woman came beside me.
"So you're with Nevada?" She pretended to fix her hair and makeup in the mirror as I washed my hands.
I looked up at her then down at my hands again, "Uh yea, I am."
She chuckled and I went to leave but she stood in front of me, blocking my way. "Listen you skank, Nevada can do better than a little girl like you. Stay out of my way, perra estúpida."
After giving her a fake smile, I pushed my way past and rushed back to the semi-saftey of Nevada's side.
I pulled myself up to his ear and whispered, "Can we get out of here?"
He nodded and told his pals that he was calling it a night. I saw him wink at his friend and nudge his head in my direction. What?
I opened the passenger side door but before I could get in, Nevada pushed it closed and leaned against it.
He looked down at me, "What happened? You looked like you were having a good time."
"I just uh," I looked up at him. "One of the girls there told me in the bathroom to like 'stay away' from you."
He laughed and kissed my forehead before going over and taking his spot in the drivers seat. "Don't worry about those ladies, they'll try but I'd never touch any of em."
I laughed nervously and got into the passenger seat. "Well it doesn't matter, this is the last time."
He nodded and began driving. I looked at my phone to see a message from Rafael.

It's getting late cariño, where are you?

It had been an hour and a half since I was "getting something to eat." I looked over at Nevada then back at my phone.

I'm on my way, sorry I lost track of time.

Nevada looked over at me and raised an eyebrow, "Something wrong?"
"Yea Rafael is just worried. Are we almost there?" He nods and drums his fingers on the steering wheel.
We pulled up in front of the apartment building and Nevada grabbed my arm before I had the chance to leave his car.
"Before you go," He leaned close and his lips were centimeters from mine. "one more for the road."
He pushed his lips into mine, but this was different than last time. Last time it was lust and whiskey but this time he felt genuine. He didn't push his tongue into my mouth or anything, he just pulled away and smiled at me. The first time I could see no trace of evil, this wasn't a smirk or grin.
Speechless, I yanked my arm away from him and scurried out of the car. When I finally got to Rafael's door, I stopped and leaned my head against it. Hopefully, I could go back to how I was before I was snatched off that street over two months ago.
I finally unlocked the apartment door and seen Rafael sitting on the couch, looking blankly at a wall. I closed the door quietly behind me and slowly walked into the kitchen, sitting my keys on the counter.
He stood, walking slowly towards me with his hands on the back of his neck. "Who is he, Naomi?"
