Rafael was so calm it scared me. He got impatient after I didn't reply and he stopped walking towards me when there was five feet between us.
"Who. Is. He." The way he parted the words made me even more worried. The familiar sassy lawyer I knew was no where to be found under the enraged but strangely calm man in front of me.
I backed as far up against the kitchen counter as I could before he quickly filled the space between us with quick strodes towards me. It happened all too fast, him shouting incoherently and slamming his fists against the cabinet above me.
I had no idea what to do, how to explain I was just trying to help keep us both safe after he had given some lunatic his address. So I cried, and once I started I couldn't stop. I knew I shouldn't have felt so sorry for myself, I got myself into this situation and I needed to take responsibility.
"Rafi please," I put my hands on his chest and sniffled, trying to stop us both from overwhelming each other. "Let me explain, please..."
He shook his head and took a few steps back. For the first time since who is he, I could make out what he was saying. "No, you can't explain something like this."
I wiped my tear stained cheeks and looked down, I couldn't stand him staring at me like this. "The man who," Hiccup. "Who took me, you know. The one night?" I looked up at him.
"The one you protected?"
I shook my head and crossed my arms over my chest. "Rafi no, he told me If I said anything that something would happen to... you."
His look softened a bit before he counterattacked, "You expect me to believe that? You never told anyone!" He threw his hands up in the air dramatically before placing them on his hips.
I got angry, "If you could've set your ego aside for a moment and not given a guy threatening your life your address then maybe none of this would've fucking happened! But no, just do whatever to look like you'r-"
"What are you talking about?!" He looked confused and I just smiled and laughed hysterically.
"It was him Rafael! You gave him your address and he took me to scare you. He," Hiccup. "He made me shut up about it and he made me do him faavoorrs. And I did because I was scared of what he'd do!"
Rafael was frozen, he didn't say anything. I went walking past him and he tried to grab at my arm, "Naomi,"
"No!" I yanked myself away from him and bit my bottom lip, trying to fight back tears. "You can stay here and continue drawing your conclusion and I'll get out of your hair."
I slammed the door behind me and put my back up against it. I couldn't help it now, tears were flooding out of my eyes as I slid to the floor with my back against the door. I sat there for what seemed like hours until I heard a gentle knock on the door.
"Cariño..." He sounded sincere but his voice was raspy from yelling.
I reluctantly opened the door and looked up at him. His eyes were red and it looked like he was crying. Seeing him look so destressed made me feel even worse, I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly.
"I'm so, so sorry Naomi." He whispered into my ear as he wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer. "You need to go to Benson. Tomorrow we can-"
I buried my face into the crevice between his neck and shoulder and mumbled, "Can we worry about that he tomorrow, I'm tired..."
He nodded and reached down, pulling my legs up over his waist and carrying me to the bed.
Everything could always be on hold for a cuddle with Rafael, everything.

"What's his name?" Benson was sitting in front of me, scribbling down notes from things I said.
Rafael was sitting next to me, he gave me a reassuring hand-squeeze from under the table. "N-Nevada. His name's Nevada."
She gave me a weird glance before writing something else down, "Like the state?" I nodded. "Okay, so, did he ever sexually abuse you?"
"No," I laughed to myself at the memory of him cuddled next to me in his jeans and leather jacket.
Olivia continued with countless questions, including why I kept it all to myself initially. I never brought up the fact that he's a drug dealer, that I was too scared to do.
After she had got up and Rafael comforted me, I got a text.
