Brantley was starting to slowly lose it. It had been almost 6 months since he'd heard from K.C, which meant she had been gone almost a year. Not just that, Kolby was still gone too. Derek had tried to pull strings and get information to no avail. He was home from tour now, which didn't help at all now that K.C had been all over his house. Her regular clothes were folded up on top of his dresser, her earrings and necklace on the counter in his bathroom, and her flip flops and shoes were next to his front door. It wasn't much, but he kept finding himself staring at them. He couldn't bring himself to move any of them either. Taking a deep breath, he stood up and grabbed his hat, deciding to head to his mom and dad's before he drove himself to drink. He was trying to stay sober until she came home, scared he would jump back to his old ways but it was getting harder and harder every week her and Kolby stayed gone.
Pulling up to his parents, he seen a white Suv. Which confused him, he knew most of the time military drove black ones. Getting out and heading inside, he almost dropped to his knees when he saw Kolby sitting on the couch. He had his little brother up in a hug before he knew it. A gesture Kolby half returned. "Where's K.C?" Brantley glanced around, being sure he didn't accidently overlook her or anything stupid when he heard Kolby sigh. "I needed to come home and get something from dad. After this, I won't be back until her and Jason are, I swear." Kolby looked from Brantley, to his mom and dad, who handed him a black duffle bag with a nod. "What do you mean?" Brantley's heart dropped and his breathing quickened. "She made us split up. Jason and her, Mars, Jax, and myself. She kept sayin shit didn't feel right, we figured she was just bein weird now that she had someone to go home to. She made Jason an herself the distraction without tellin us. Been lookin everywhere, pullin every string I can to keep track on them until we get to them, but so far by the time we get there, they're gone." Brantley sat down, taking off his hat and putting his head between his knees. "B, look, I'm sure she's fine. Her an Jason know what they're doin. For all I know, they could've gotten out themselves and makin it back on their own. They've done it before, don't mean I ain't gunna pull out every stop until I know for damn sure bro. I swear I'm doin all I can." The singer looked up at his brother and nodded, "I know Ko, I've just been so worried bout the both of ya'll. Mixed emotions an shit." He waved his hands around haphazardly and stood back up. "You need anythin else? Money? Phone? Computer?" Kolby smirked a bit, "Some rest. Mars an Jax are asleep in the car." "Ya'll come to the house, they can have the spare rooms." His little brother nodded, moving to hug his mom and dad, "Ya'll both come back safe baby." His mom kissed his cheek while his dad gripped him tighter than usual.
They had gotten back to his house, heading inside, Kolby pointed the guys to the rooms as they thanked Brantley and went to pass out. "You ain't tellin me somethin Ko..." Brantley watched as his brother paused and hung his head. He headed back into the living room, sitting on the couch before he spoke. "We almost had them a couple of weeks ago, like, I was so fucking close B. They're both pretty beat up, I ain't gunna lie to ya. You need to be right when I bring her back though, she's gunna need you a hell of a lot more than you think." Brantley raised his eyebrow, but nodded, making Kolby shake his head. "I'm serious Brantley. Russians don't just beat the hell out of you, they fuck with your head too. A lot. This is gunna test everything you have for her, friendship included bro. This is gonna make her disappearing shit seem like cake." "There's no question to it Ko, I'll be there for her and you, all of you, however you need me to." He looked determined as his brother studied him before nodding. "I just want to be sure you're not gonna leave her at her worst bro." "I'm kinda pissed you would even think that, Ko. Seriously. I ain't who I was when y'all left. I got her now an I ain't lettin her go for shit. Deal with it." Kolby nodded shortly and patted his brothers shoulder, "I'll get her back home if its the last thing I do, brother." The way Kolby spoke put a chill through Brantley. "You don't do anything incredibly stupid Kolby, I need you too." Kolby just nodded and headed up to his bedroom. Brantley on the other hand felt like his heart had been stomped on. He couldn't help feeling a mixture of pride and hurt knowing she willingly put herself in danger to keep her promise to his mom. The singer shook his head, he needed her home safe.
