Brantley and the guys stayed true to their word, cleaning up what little mess his mom surprisingly hadn't got to while K.C was in the kitchen making a strawberry cheesecake from scratch, the couples favorite.
The singer couldn't help but smile, he'd seen the redhead plenty of times bouncing along to music in this very kitchen while she cooked something. It was a cute thing she'd picked up from his momma, who still had a tiny radio in the window above the sink that stayed on the same local country station no matter what. He however, didn't know she knew how to make anything from scratch, let alone a cheesecake.
As if she could sense his presence, she turned around with a small smile, "What?" Brantley smiled bashfully, making his way over to peek at her work, which surprised him even more. "That's beautiful baby." He noticed a sparkle in her eyes as she smiled at him. "You really think so? The place they went to is pretty fancy, so they should have somethin fancy when they get back." "Positive. They're gunna think you went out and bought it." He chuckled, noticing her blush while she sliced strawberries. "How'd you learn this?" Stealing a strawberry, he hopped on the counter as she shrugged, "Looked it up on my phone." "You lie." She laughed. "When have I had time to learn how to make a cheesecake, B? I'm always gettin shot at." She joked, making him roll his eyes. "That's seriously your first time makin one?" She nodded again. He was just messing with her now, noticing she was trying to hide the fact she was loving he was so impressed with her work. Which, he really was. It looked amazing for her first try, for any try really. He wanted to steal it.
"Yo, that looks good as hell, ma!" Mars went to touch it before his hand was slapped by K.C. "Why you gotta finger fuck every damn thing?" She snipped playfully before having to slap Jax's hand away as well. "Well damn, I found your ass, and took bullets, do I get a cake?" Kolby crossed his arms, trying to hide a smile. "Fuck that. Where's my cake then?" Jason pushed Kolby out of the way. "Hold up. I make you scream, I want cake." Everyone looked at Brantley before bursting out into laughter. K.C rolled her eyes as she sat the cheesecake in the refrigerator. "How about we head over to your house and we see what I can scrounge together. Like, a glass and rum." They all shook their heads at her and laughed. "Rum cake." Jax laughed harder as K.C playfully slapped him in the back of the head.

Back at Brantley's place, K.C went to head up the stairs, moving a bit slowly before she felt his strong, tattooed arms scoop her up and rush up the stairs, unable to stop the giggle that came from her. Sitting her on the bed, he tossed her the pajamas she left over the first time she came home. K.C could feel his eyes on her as she changed, knowing he didnt mean to, so she tried to hurry up and finish. "What's the rush?" Sure, he'd noticed the fresh scars she had yet to let him really see since she first got home. Moving over, he grabbed her shirt and stopped her, making her face him in just her bra and panties. Brantley honestly didn't even care about them. His eyes were to drawn to her tattoos, or the shape she was in before he noticed any scar. "Don't ever worry bout that shit with me. I don't even see 'em." She smiled a little, but kept her head down, making him pick her chin up to look at him. He wanted to say something else, but his mind drew a blank the moment her eyes met his. "You're lettin yourself get to you." He moved a piece of hair behind her ear and kissed her forehead, smirking and mugging her as she rolled her eyes and slapped his chest, making him chuckle. Pulling her back into his arms, he wrapped her into a hug and kissed the top of her head. "I wish we could just run away." He mumbled to her. Feeling her snort a bit, he leaned back and looked down at her. "What?" "You used to tell me that all the time." "That means we really got to." She shook her head. "To where? Your famous and my face is known in not a good way almost everywhere else." Brantley made a face. "The woods? To camp?" K.C laughed. "You're a mess, boy. Now let me get dressed so I can make y'all somethin." She kissed him sweetly, feeling him smile as she did so. "I love you." He spoke up before she made it through the doorway, making her stop and turn around. "I love you too." She winked at him and headed back down the stairs.
The guys were already pouring shots and making lame insults at each other. She walked in and started looking around the kitchen for something to make them so they would shut up about it, but she wasn't having much luck. "Well fuckers, y'all can be mad at B.G, there ain't shit here surprisingly." She turned and made a face as all the guys were already glaring at Brantley. "Sorry y'all, stay gone too much and the ex barely knew what a fryin pan was." K.C glared momentarily before picking one up with a smirk. "I'd be happy to go show her." Kolby raised a hand, "Shotgun." She looked at him with an eyebrow raised. "What? Seat. Not actual shotgun, you crazy bitch." Brantley's mind quickly played back his dad saying 'never call a woman a bitch.' When he heard K.C laugh, and Kolby yelp from her throwing the salt shaker at his head. "Will the little pizza place in town still deliver out here?" Brantley smirked at his girlfriend, "They will if I tell them it's for me." His face wore the most cocky look K.C had ever seen, which made her snort before she started laughing. "Baby, don't make me knock you down off that high horse. It's a fucking pizza place in a town of 350 fuckin people. Of course they know you." The guys "oooh'd", looking between the redhead and the country star like little kids. Brantley wanted to retort, but he couldn't help but laugh at her. There she was again, never scared to put him in his place, whether they were joking or serious. He loved she wasn't scared to bite back. "550, thank you very much." He spoke matter of factly as he grabbed his cell phone, moving to call the place as the threw the bird finger over his shoulder at her. "He really thinks he's cool, don't he?" She looked to Kolby, who just shrugged and laughed with her. "Yeah, so cool he played with G.I Joe's in the shower until he was 15." Kolby spoke low, where only her and the other three could hear. You would've swore they were going to pee their pants trying not to laugh too loud. "So cool he wore whitey tighties until he was in high school and figured out no one else did." K.C looked at Kolby on that one. "Holy shit. I didn't even know that!" She started laughing so hard she snorted, making everyone laugh harder. "Y'all are ruthless." Jax tried to get out between laughs. "That's what happens when you get cocky." They both laughed. "What the hell is so funny?" Brantley looked amused, even though he knew they were probably laughing at him. K.C, Kolby and himself could get pretty ruthless sometimes. "Damn. Pizza ain't here yet?" Kolby tried to quit laughing. "Yeah, I mean come on, you're fucking Brantley Gilbert, dude. Should've been here five minutes ago." K.C laughed again. Brantley made a face at all of them. "You can all go to hell." He really didn't have anything good to get them with at the moment. He just liked K.C was enjoying herself. Even if it was at his expense. "Only if I can drive." She smiled and winked while she moved to pour another round of shots. "Shotgun!" Kolby yelled again. Jason raised an eyebrow, an amused smirk. "Is it a reaction to yell that when it sounds like we're goin somewhere?" "Yep." The younger Gilbert threw the shot back and grinned at Jason. "I always won too." "He ain't kiddin. Called that shit a month ahead one time we had to take a road trip." Brantley  grumbled, throwing back his own shot. "Don't be mad you had to ride in the back with mom. You're the one who snuggled up to her and fell asleep." K.C could've swore Brantley's face turned as red as her hair before she started laughing. "Don't even try to be embarrassed, I've met those two with their moms." She pointed to Jax and Mars, who quit laughing and looked down, knowing she was right. "Why you gotta drag us into it?" Both wore smiles, but tried to look offended. "Because it's fun, duh."
The singer laughed, loving the look of amusement on the redheads face. If she didn't pick on you bad enough to make you think she hated you, then she really didn't like you.
Brantley nodded for her to follow him outside while he waited on the pizza, leaving the guys in the kitchen and stepping into the night air. As soon as she pulled the door shut behind her, he had her pressed against it, his lips on hers passionately while his hands rested on her hips. Pulling back, he smirked. "You." He bopped his finger gently on her nose. "And that." His thumb traced over her bottom lip. "Are drivin me crazy." He kissed her again before pulling her to sit on the steps with him. "I wasn't bein too mean, was I?" Brantley snorted. "No baby, not at all. I need someone to help Kolby tell embarrassing shit bout me." He winked when she looked surprised and then laughed, realizing he'd heard what she had said. "I know you were playin." She rolled her eyes and smirked, "You sure bout that?" Brantley ran his hand down his face and chuckled. "You're gunna kill me, woman." He chuckled as she grinned goofily at him when they seen the pizza guy pulling up.
