Brantley and Derek were headed back up to the house when he seen the men from the picture he'd gotten from K.C a couple of weeks ago slowly get out. He wasn't sure which ones were which, but he had a feeling the giant one with long hair was Jason. He watched as he went to the back seat and grabbed someone out. Looking over, he seen the blonde headed from the other side, Kolby propped up on him before his brother looked up, noticing him and his dad and smiling. "Found em!" He tried to joke, but it hurt to laugh. Derek and Brantley rushed foward, helping grab bags and carry them inside. He wanted nothing more than to check on K.C, but he figured she was sleeping. He was also pretty nervous as to how she would be.
"Your moms grocery shoppin. You should've called son, we could've set it up for you." Kolby waved it off. "I'm good. Hurts a bit. It's sister this go round." He glanced from his dad to Brantley as Jason walked in, holding K.C close to him bridal style and looking like a possesive cave man. Brantley couldn't help but feel jealous the way the large man was carrying his girlfriend, but that wasn't the concern right now. "Let's get her in my old room. I'm sure that's where momma would put her anyway." He headed up the stairs quickly, fixing his bed up and moving a few things around before heading back down. "I'll take her up there." He went to reach for her from Jason, who stepped back with almost a growl, making Brantley raise his eyebrow. "Not now B. Second door on the right Moa." Kolby spoke up, making Brantley turn his look to him. Kolby looked to his dad knowingly, who nodded. "Y'all wanna wash up, theres showers upstairs and down here, make yourselves at home. I'm watchin the game." Jax and Mars cheered at being able to relax and watch football finally, Kolby nodded his head towards the door at his older brother.
"The fuck was that?" Brantley was pissed. "Something you're going to have to deal with or you'll lose her forever." Brantley glared at his brother, who held his hands up. "All I know is, they got separated, K.C got the worst of it. He listened to her scream and fight from another room for days, bro. None of us know whats happened to her B, not even him. Right now, he's terrified to let her go, regardless to where we are. You gotta give it time brother. He ain't gunna leave her right now. He ain't ate, drank, I really don't think he's even gone to the bathroom. He loves her just as much as you do, just a different way. It was them before it was us. She saved his life bro, he couldn't return the favor this time and its eating him up." Brantley was still pissed, he understood, but he was pissed he couldn't be the one she was clinging to like she used to. He felt replaced. He felt his brothers hand on his shoulder, "Really, take the time to get to know these guys. She will love that more than anything. Especially if you and Jason got tight. It'd be the happy family she always wanted bro. Just be thankful she has a crew that would legit die for her, because I almost did." He showed Brantley his bullet wounds. "I made sure they got out while  I took fire. I realized when I got to the chopper and looked at everyone, how much of a leader I'd been while she was gone. I couldn't have done any of it if I didn't have her to guide me and stay on my ass all the time. Same with Mars and Jax, she keeps us all in line man. We'd do anything to make sure she's safe. And if thats Jason's big ass up there, holdin her like a cave man until they both feel better, then that's what it's gunna be."
Brantley sighed, rubbing the back of his neck and looking at Kolby again, knowing everything he said was right. "You doin aight?" The younger Gilbert nodded, "Flesh wounds, bro. No worries." He winked, putting a smile on both their faces as they headed back inside. "I'll go check on em." Kolby nodded as his brother slowly headed upstairs towards his room. He knocked softly before hearing a gruff 'yeah' sound through. The singer opened the door, seeing Jason sitting up, K.C's head in his lap as he rested his head against the wood, his hand resting on her head. Brantley kept his composure upon looking her over. There wasn't a spot that didn't have a scratch, gash, or bruise from what he could see. She was bandaged up pretty good. He noticed Jason's wrists and face as well as he stepped further into the room. "She's sleepin, got her doped up. Keeps mumblin your name." Jason spoke quietly as he could, his eyes still closed. "You need anything?" He shook his head. Brantley sat down in his old desk chair and watched them quietly. He studied everything about them. Most people would just say they looked in love, but now Brantley seen it different. "I'm not in love with her. Maybe years ago, but its different now." Jason's gruff voice broke Brantley's thoughts. The singer wasn't sure how to respond, but he felt like Jason was about to explain things. "I couldn't get to her." He paused, holding his wrists for Brantley to see. "I was tryin to Hercules that shit. Some how, and I still don't know how, she got free and saved me. She saved me. Again. I carried her probably 15 miles before we found a village. Luckily some do gooders from Kentucky were out there, patched us up and let us crash in their spot until the boys found us." He was looking down at her as he spoke. "Hospital in Germany patched her up good, gave us some stuff to keep her asleep a couple of days. I cant leave until she's okay." "I get you man, I'm sure I'd be the same way. 'Specially over a woman like her." Jason broke a small smile, "Crazy bitches like her are few and far between." They both chuckled. "She's all about you, you know that, right?" Jason looked back at him, watching intently as Brantley nodded. "An I know everything. And I mean every thing. I'm the definition of loyal to her bro, don't ever cross her cuz it'll be me you deal with." He looked to Brantley sternly, making the singer, as big as he was, feel like he was 4 years old all over again. "Oh, I know better now. I plan on not lettin her do a damn thing as soon as she gets out." Jason smiled, "I was gunna tell you that, but tellin her not to do somethin is like tryin to move a brick wall." They both chuckled quietly, glad they had gotten off on a better foot than earlier. He still felt pretty jealous, the mountain of a Samoan man laid up in his old bed with his ole lady, but he understood as weird as it was. At least she had more than one person loyal to her. She deserved that more than anyone he knew.
