K.C had just about enough of the bullshit. They had been yanked around about their mission from the get go. Foggy details and half assed intel. Sloppy work before them all around. Not to mention, they had lost service on their phones awhile ago, even the sat phone was worthless. All they had were each other, which as the old saying goes, wasn't the first time, probably wouldn't be the last time. Nothing at all felt right.
Kolby could sense her frustration as she kept checking her phone and wandering around their camp for enough bars to text Brantley. He knew his brother was probably in his feelings by now, which K.C was nervous about. "So, this is boss lady with an ole man?" Jax sat next to Kolby and they both chuckled, "I guess. This is her with my brother anyway. She's already over thinkin shit, I'm sure he is too. Just as long as he keeps his head straight and his dick in his pants, I won't have to hurt him." Jax snorted and nodded, understanding what he was saying and where it came from. "He's a lucky bastard, I hope he knows that." Kolby chuckled, "Pretty sure he does now. She may or may not have went a bit crazy for a second." Jax smirked, "You okay with it?" Kolby raised his eyebrow at him. It wasn't the first time he had been asked that same question. "Yeah bro, nuthin there for me but a sibling bond. Always has been." The blonde nodded, "I get it." They both laughed at her when she jumped up and down with a quiet squeal, quickly typing away on her phone.
K.C almost jumped for joy when she received a text back, smiling to herself as she read it. She wasn't sure if she should write him another one back or not. Fuck it. She started to type away as she noticed Jason from the corner of her eye.
Good to know. You know I give everyone hell baby. :) I'll be back home before you know it. I better come back to some more new music.
The redhead looked up as she sent the text, suddenly feeling like it sounded absolutely stupid that she seen it on the screen. "Sending stupid sounding texts?" She rolled her eyes, "Shutup. I didn't even know if I should text back or not." Jason laughed, "Never thought I would see the day the Reaper got giddy over someone." She glared and shoved him playfully. "He's always got me that way. Part of me still feels like it's all so fast, but it feels right, ya know? I don't know. I got no idea what the fuck I'm doin, Moa." The large man chuckled deeply, "Quit bein scared. Just go with it. You deserve it. I think I know that just as much as he does. We ain't ever promised tomorrow, especially the stupid shit we do, so just live an be happy while you can babe." He raised his eyebrow to her as she rolled her eyes and smiled anyway, Jason always knew just what to tell her, whether she wanted to hear it or not. "I know. I just don't trust his ex. She's a sneaky ass bitch." He snorted, "K.C, you're a fucking bad ass, you can one up her in anything any day of the week. How many times have you saved all our asses on some crazy ass plan B shit? Don't worry about it. Stay focused on what we have to do here. None of us need to get hurt because your mind is in Georgia." He pulled her into a hug, letting her know he wasn't being an ass towards her, just telling the truth like always. "Come on, we gotta get ready to head out."
The redhead loaded the rest of her bullets into mags, made sure her knives were in place and grabbed her mask, standing up and tucking it in into her back pocket while she slid her hat on backwards. Grabbing her things, she headed out and met back up with her guys near the tree line. "It'll be better if we go on foot, keep a team back here for evac 'case we need it." They all nodded in agreement, game faces on as they headed into the thin woodline.
