Harley's Point of View
Today was July 6th, my birthday, I should have been celebrating. I was finally eighteen it should have been a happy day but ever since the whole thing with Daniel, my birthday had just left a sour taste in my mouth. I told everyone that if anyone did anything for my birthday I would personally make their lives a living hell and they agreed to just give Hailey a party.
I sighed as I got out of bed and went downstairs. I ate breakfast and after I was done I left the house to go buy some candy, video games, and pick up my birthday present for Hailey. When I returned everyone was setting up for the party, I went back upstairs and into my room. After awhile Matt came in.
"Happy Birthday," Matt said leaving two birthday presents on my table. "I know you said no fuss about your birthday or anything but Dad and I were both in agreement that it get wrong not to get you anything."
I nodded. "Thanks I appreciate it."
"Dad wanted to call you and wish you happy birthday but you didn't answer."
"Oh I'll call him back," I said checking my phone, which did have two missed calls from him. I looked up and Matt was awkwardly lingering my the door. "Did you need something else?" I asked.
"Are you sure you don't want to come down and celebrate?" he offered.
"I'm good, Matt, I mean it," I said.
He nodded and took a couple candies from me and then went back down to help them prepare. A couple minutes later my phone went off.

I was now jealous of Lucas and Matt for keeping up with their school work while we were with Daniel, I hadn't considered how bad repeating senior year was going to be. A little while later, I called my dad and he wished me happy birthday and reminded me to be happy today. I wished I was. I was a couple hours into one of my new video games when I got another call.
"Hey Harley its Blake."
"Oh hey how did you get my number?"
"My mom, apparently you guys talked at night?"
"What can I say? Megan gives great advice," I said chuckling.
"We just wanted to wish you happy birthday, your sister mentioned you were back."
"Wait you and Hailey still talk even though you broke up?" I said a bit shocked.
