(Y/N) hugged her sides and giggled like a school girl. Her heart felt light and her head felt dizzy. The world around her seemed brighter and fuller. Colors sang and the quiet symphony of birds and crickets just beyond where she stood on her porch sounded like the most beautiful thing she had ever heard. Well, the second most beautiful thing she had ever heard next to his voice.
Nighttime didn't feel like the night with how joyful the young woman was feeling standing barefoot on her wooden porch. She looked up to the moon and bit her bottom lip thinking of what happened to her earlier that day.
----
It was around 1 o'clock and (Y/N) had made her way to the park for a little bit of relaxing for her weekend. It was warm and bright outside, the sun smiling like a child, so it was perfect for a stroll through the green park. She was about a mile into her walk when she heard a deafening cry for help. It sounded like a child, so she sprinted as fast as she could to find them.
(Y/N) saw two figures just ahead in front of an oak tree. A little girl with bright yellow pigtails was nodding rapidly to a man with long, red hair tied up into a ponytail. He was speaking to the little girl with the utmost sincere concern. She pointed to the tree, and a loud meow could be heard. "Aw, her cat," (Y/N) frowned, running over to the two. "Is your cat stuck, sweetie?" she asked. The man looked to her and stood. (Y/N) eyes widened and her heart thumped like a drum in her chest when she saw his face. Who was this handsome stranger?
(Y/N) didn't notice the little girl pulling on her pant leg at first, but she quickly snapped from her daze and looked down. The little girl had tears welling in her eyes, and she quickly said, "Can you help Mr. Muu get my kitty down?"
"Of course!" (Y/N) returned quickly. She looked to the man, Muu, and turned pink as he smiled to her.
"I'll introduce myself properly after we get Annabelle's cat," he said. (Y/N) nodded and they both ran up to the side of the tree. The tabby can hissed down at Muu, and the redheaded man glared back. "He doesn't like me, so I can't exactly touch him," he said to (Y/N). "Would you be able to climb up and get him?" (Y/N)'s pause made him cough quickly, adding, "That is, if you're not allergic to cats or anything. Or, I mean, if you don't like climb-"
"N-no, I can do it!" (Y/N) cut him off. She grabbed the side of the tree and hoisted herself up. Muu reached up and grabbed her waist, giving her an extra boost up the towering tree. (Y/N) felt her heart thump again and her face went red, but she still had her eyes locked on the cat. After about a minute of trying to just reach up to the cat without falling, (Y/N) had the animal in her arms. "Gotcha," she grinned to the cat. She looked down to Muu and Annabelle who waited anxiously down at the base of the oak. "I've got him n-" She gasped as she lost her footing and she came tumbling down. She braced for the impact against the ground, but she felt two strong arms catch her mid-fall. She opened her eyes and say Muu blinking down at her with a red face. The cat in (Y/N)'s arms hissed and quickly jumped away to Annabelle. The little girl hugged her cat and spun around, laughing loudly.
"Thank you!" she called, running away. The two young adults stayed in an awkward silence before Muu set (Y/N) back down on her feet, rubbing his neck afterwards. (Y/N)'s heart was still beating rapidly and she couldn't help but smile at the man. She fought back a giggle at his behavior.
"Sorry for falling like that," she said. "Lost my footing."
"No, don't apologize," Muu said. "You didn't do anything wrong. I'm just glad you didn't end up breaking an ankle or something," he smiled. His smile. Oh, his smile made (Y/N) melt. They both laughed lightly. "My name is Muu Alexius." He held out his hand and (Y/N) shook it.
"I'm (Y/N) (L/N)," she smiled. She pulled a strand of (H/C) hair behind her ear and she crossed her arms. "What brings you to the park on this fine Saturday?" she asked. "I'm guessing it's not to go around and catch random women falling from trees." Muu laughed and shook his head.
"No, I'm just meeting up with some friends. How about you?"
"Just relaxing," (Y/N) shrugged. "It gets kind of lonely at my house, so I usually just walk around here and listen to the people. It's soothing, really." Muu tilted his head and looked at her for a few moments, a plan forming in his head.
"Would you care to walk with me here tomorrow?" he asked. "It would make your walk less lonely." (Y/N) laughed lightly and rocked on the balls of her feet. "Same time? I'll meet you in front of the tree where you fell."
(Y/N)'s heart thumped again. "That sounds like a date, Muu," she grinned.
"Who said it wasn't?" he grinned back.
"Alright, yeah," (Y/N) nodded. "Same time same place."
"Great," Muu beamed. "Alright, I've got to go. I'll see you tomorrow, (Y/N)." He jogged off, leaving (Y/N) in a clouded daze.
----
It became a usual thing for the two. They would meet in the park for a stroll, sometimes walk in the rain together, sit on the benches and talk, and sometimes even go grab some coffee afterwards. It became the highlight of both of their days whenever they could see each other. Everything in (Y/N)'s life began to seem fuller. She had a reason to feel happy again since a long time, and she never wanted the feeling to go away.
They were once again on another walk in the park together. It was raining just a little, and the two were sharing an enormous, blue umbrella, and Muu had his arm around (Y/N)'s side. They were silent, but it was a comfortable silence. They listened to the rain above their heads, thinking about the same thing; each other.
"(Y/N)?" Muu said, breaking the silence. They both stopped walking and turned to each other. "You know what?"
"What?"
"I think it's high time I man up and kiss you already," he said. (Y/N)'s heart kicked in her chest like a wild horse, and she couldn't fight the smile that sat on her lips.
"I agree with you," she grinned. Muu laughed and quickly leaned down to plant a ginger kiss on her lips. The sound of the rain around them grew louder and the water beat down harder against their umbrella. It began to pour. They broke away from their kiss and laughed. (Y/N) looked behind him and saw a familiar tree. She broke away from him and sped through the rain to the tree.
"Hey! (Y/N), wait!" Muu called, running after her. (Y/N) made it to the tree just a little more than damp, and she waited for Muu to join her under the leaves. "What was that for?" he asked, closing the umbrella.
"I just thought it would be more proper for me to kiss you where I first fell for you," she smiled. Muu went pinked and he laughed loudly. He brushed her wet hair from her face and kissed her again, this time less timid and more bold.
They were absolutely smitten.
