Hello, my old heart

How have you been?

Are you still there inside my chest?

Yunan had lost her so long ago. Time stood still when she left him. The world seemed to stop for just a few moments to allow her spirit to lift. It was not her choice to leave him, but the choice of fate and he knew never to distract the course of fate. Though he yearned for her to stay, for her to not leave him alone, they both knew her time would come. And it did.

I've been so worried, you've been so still

Barely beating at all

Oh, don't leave me here alone

Don't tell me that we've grown

For having loved a little while

The world felt empty without her in it. He wandered across new lands, sailed upon clear waters, and he wept. For years he wept in his own despair. She was no longer by his side, no longer smiling to him, no longer resting by his side under the stars when rest lulled their bodies to sleep.

Oh, I don't wanna be alone

I wanna find a home

And I wanna share it with you

But he continued. He lived each day without her, following each open road until it ended. He met new people, new souls, and somehow each one of them seemed to hold some piece of her. A child might share the sparkle in their eye as she once had when she looked to him. Yunan could almost hear her voice as he listened to a woman laugh to her husband as he traveled through a town.

And every day, I add another stone

To the walls I built around you

To keep you safe

Yunan never found someone as special to him as (Y/N) was. The selfish part of him that he tried so hard to keep quiet always refused to look at anyone the way he looked at her. He was a man with a broken heart and a yearning soul. 

Through years of keeping to himself, exploring, wandering, and wondering, he found himself to be more quiet than the year before and the year before that. He rarely spoke anymore, often simply listening to other voices to replace his own in silence.
