You Both Reach a Decision

        "Are you nuts?!" Allen asked in a rushed whisper. "We can't take care of them!"

        "Why not?! You were the one who said that we can't just leave them out here!" you retorted.

        "I know what I said, but I was thinking that we drop them off somewhere safe that can entertain themselves, not have us take care of them!"

         "I hate to be this person but man up! We can handle being parental figures!"

         "I doubt it..."

         "Allen... Look, let's at least try, for them. I can only imagine how lonely and scarred they must. Please Al? Can we please take them in?"

        You gave Allen your best puppy look. He needed to make his mind up now because you could hear the zombies that were still alive beginning to stir. Allen tried to look away but failed to do so, your cuteness level being too strong for him to resist. He hung his head and gave a small sigh. He had been defeated by your adorable looks.

        "Alright dollface... We can keep them..."

        You fist pumped the air with a quiet "yes" before hugging him and giving him a kiss. He kissed you back. If this was his reward for letting you have your way, he'd let you have your way all the time. Sadly, that was not the case for him.

        You broke the kiss and walked back to Asher and Charlotte. The older boy was still holding on to his little sister, her crying now ceased into small sniffles here and there. You gave them a small smile and crouched down to be nearly the same height as them.

        "Would the two of you like to come live with Al and I?" you asked them, still smiling.

        They both looked shocked from your kind offer, not expecting two complete strangers to want to take care of two random kids. Then again, the two of you did just save them from certain death. Charlotte broke away from Asher and suddenly hugged you tightly.

        "Thank you!" she said quietly, her little arms wrapped around your neck.

        You hugged her back before Asher joined her in giving you his thanks and a hug. Allen pouted. Where were his hugs? He may not have really liked kids, but a thanks would have been nice. He spaced off for a moment but was brought back by the feeling of something touching his legs. It was Charlotte hugging him. He smiled slightly and ruffled her hair a bit before picking her up. She gave no protest and hugged him around his neck, resting his head against his shoulder. You took Asher's hand and walked over to Allen before taking your boyfriend's free hand after he settled the little girl on his hip and wrapped an arm around her so she wouldn't fall. The three of you then walked out of the barn and off of the farm property to head to your temporary base as a new family.

        "Matt, I think I have an idea, but you aren't going to like it..."

        "What is it chickadee?"

        "We keep her and take care of her like she was our own. It's the best thing I can think at the moment that doesn't involve us traveling all over to find someone to take care of her instead of us. Plus, look at how cute she is with Kuma."

         "Kuma would eat her..."

         You both suddenly heard giggling and looked over at Juliette and Kuma. The large white, fluffy polar bear was licking her face gently. You motioned to the scene with your hand and put your other hand on your hip.
