Platonic cuddles are the best thing ever and I don't understand why more people don't do it?

I had been working tirelessly on the podcast for a few months now. It was so difficult to make an idea, a concept, into an actual thing. Nate was obviously a very busy guy between juggling two YouTube channels, a camera range, a shared clothing line with Abbey that had just launched as well as the odd filming jobs he took on. I didn't quite understand how he managed, especially if you watched his vlogs where he seemed to spend a lot of time lounging around and just hanging out with Abbey, Patch and his friends.

You really didn't see all the work he put in behind the scenes and because a lot of things were secret up until a specific date he couldn't even share it with anyone. Clearly, it didn't show all the hustle that went on when it was turned off.

I had always resented a bit when YouTubers said that they had a secret project that would be launched soon...

However, now working on a secret project that wasn't to be revealed before the first episode was ready to air I gained a new respect for the creative video bloggers yet again. I had always thought that I was very understanding but it was nothing quite like learning from actually being in their position.

"I just wish I could tell my Tumblr friends," I muttered to myself and sunk deeper into the blanket. I was just cuddled up with my laptop on Abbey and Nate's sofa with Abbey doing exactly the same.

Patch was soundly asleep next to Abbey's feet and she'd "accidentally" let almost half of her blanket fall onto the floor and he was snoring away in it. I had been so excited when they first picked up Patch because I had always loved dogs but I had never been allowed to have one growing up on account of my parents absolutely banning pets of all kinds.

According to them pets were just time-consuming entities that I wasn't diligent enough to look after and they didn't see the point of having an animal in the house.

"I know the feeling," Abbey said and closed her laptop before reaching down to scratch Patch behind the ear. "I was so anxious about how the response would be to my rebranding and our lounge wear range. You know about it potentially years before it becomes a reality. And by the time it's actually ready to launch it doesn't feel so new anymore."

"It's different from uni that's for sure," I muttered and showed my laptop aside and pulled the blanket over my head and shifted over towards Abbey for a cuddle. "It's a good different though. It's just very difficult because a real life projects, especially self-made ones, don't come with exact guidelines like an assignment did."

"Welcome to the real world. It's terrifies me," Abbey said and repositioned herself.

It was becoming colder and darker outside and slowly we had gotten into the habit of cuddling up on the sofa during the afternoons, as I came over to their place to work quite often. Abbey had been a bit tense the first time I had snuggled up to her but then she'd slowly relaxed.

I had always found it so stupid that physical affection would often be interpreted as romantic gestures or something that was only allowed with your significant other. It was absurd. Still, I was happy I had slowly converted Abbey from when she first met me and she would flinch when I swung an arm around her.

"Gosh all this cuddling is going to make me sleepy," Abbey said and broke out into a yawn.

"Cuddles are the best thing ever," I stated. "Which is why I get so annoyed when people think it can't be a platonic thing to do? Think about younger siblings who'd cuddle up and then suddenly because they're teenagers, especially if they're not the same gender, it's suddenly odd? Platonic cuddles for President! It's a far better candidate than Trump," I continued and chuckled.
