Chapter 16: CRFG- Columbus and Red Fox Group (Vincent Faller)
I woke up cold. I was laying in the smoldering remains of the house. Christy was asleep on a burnt mattress. Benjamin and Carter were on watch. I got up and grabbed my rifle. I heard a rumbling. Then there was headlights.
"Hide,"Benjamin shouted.
We hid behind the remains of the second story landing that were on the first floor. The truck stoppedd. Out stepped Elena Ash. I lifted my rifle as she began walking toward the house. She stepped into the living room remains.
"What have I done?" she asked herself.
"Hello, anyone there?" she shouted.
Carter walked out before I could grab him. Pistol out he walked into point blank range.
"Hey Elena," he said.
"You're Carter, right?" she asked.
He replied, "Yeah. So where is your group?"
"I blew up one of their trucks," she said.
He lowered his pistol and said, "Come on out guys."
We walked out.
"They sent me to kill you. The reason I brought you outside is so I didn't," she said.
"Do you know how we can get them back?" I asked.
"Yes I do," she said.
"So what's the plan?" Carter asked.
The grin came across her face.
