taehyung stared at his phone screen for a few more seconds, his eyes scanning the number attached to jenna's contact, making sure he was texting the right number- and he was. he angrily tossed his phone aside, grabbing the nearest pillow on the couch and letting out a loud groan into it.

"woah there, hyung," a voice chirped from the family room doorway, which made taehyung lower the pillow to discover jungkook, the maknae of the group, smiling at him with a bowl of ramen in his hand. "you okay?"

"go away." taehyung tossed the pillow in his hands carelessly towards jungkook, which he dodged with ease. jungkook neared taehyung, carefully, then sat the bowl of ramen on the coffee table in front of the couch. jungkook faltered onto the couch, patting his older hyung's shoulder. jungkook didn't deal with these situations very well, so he slouched lowly beside taehyung, awkwardly and robotically patting his shoulder.

"i made you ramen." jungkook pointed towards the steaming bowl of ramen, which taehyung slightly glimpsed towards, before throwing his head back and leaning it against the top of the couch cushion. jungkook sighed, taking his arm away from taehyung's shoulder, reaching forward and grabbing the bowl off of the coffee table. "you haven't eaten all day, taehyung-ah. please eat."

he pushed the bowl towards taehyung, who shoved it back, causing a dab of the broth to drip onto jungkook's jeans. jungkook pursed his lips, annoyed with taehyung's behavior, so he simply got up from the couch, and placed the bowl of ramen back on the coffee table. "i'm leaving the ramen here just in case you want some later." and with that, jungkook left the room.

once taehyung heard jungkook's footsteps gradually get fainted and fainter, he opened his eyes, reaching forward for the bowl of ramen. he grabbed the chopsticks and grabbed some ramen, bringing it up to his mouth. he winced, letting out a injured yelp as he quickly placed the bowl of ramen back on the table, fanning his newly burnt tongue.

"idith! idith!" he spoke, his speech slightly messed up due to his tongue sticking halfway out of his mouth, his hands still frantically fanning the newly burnt spot on his tongue.

taehyung let out an exasperated groan sinking further into the couch and closing his eyes, bringing his tongue back into his mouth. he began to fall back into a deep slumber, his head starting to fall as he neared sleep.

[actually wrote this while sitting on the bed in the doctors office lmao]

jenna parkinson

i sat on top of the uncomfortable bed in the doctors office, kicking my feet nervously as i fiddled with my thumbs in my lap. my mother was sat in a chair parallel to the bed, staring down nervously at the ground, tapping her foot against the floor.

"when's the doctor gonna come?" my mother looked down at her watch, her arm slightly shaking as she lifted it up.

"we've been here for ten minutes, momma." i explained, checking the time on my phone. a slight feeling of disappointment began to form in the pit of my stomach, seeing miyoung nor taehyung had texted me. i began to feel as if they'd given up on me, but it wouldn't be a new feeling to me, almost everyone i've grown to care for had eventually given up on me. although i did want to face the facts, i knew i was slowly drifting farther and farther away from both miyoung and my mother. each day that went by, i feel as if they were slowly realizing that i was a lost cause.

i knew my mother was hoping for the best with my test results, but i knew something was wrong with me- i was doing it to myself nonetheless. i didn't want my mother to find out the hard way, but she was gonna find out someday, in some way possibly worse than this- probably catching me in the act.

she had noticed my sudden ill appearance, commenting that i looked like a "literal walking carcass.". she knew something was wrong with me, and when i wouldn't tell her what it was, she decided to bring me to the doctor.

although there wasn't a test to define what i was, or what i was doing to myself, my levels through blood work were like an open book. one glimpse at my levels and they'd know exactly what was wrong with me.

a gentle knock was heard at the door, and as soon as my doctor stepped through the door, i knew it was a downhill journey for me. counseling sessions, a trip to the cardiologist, frequent visits to the therapist, more medication, and constant supervision.

my doctor looked down at me with sorrow-filled eyes, clutching their clipboard as if their life depended on it. they cleared their throat, shifting their gaze to my mother, who was practically on the edge of her seat in anticipation for my test results. as the doctor began to speak, my mothers face dimmed. i looked down, scratching the back of arm nervously as i listened to my doctor name all the abnormalities in my blood levels.

"well, first off, her white blood cell count is low, as is her iron. and, her electrolytes are abnormally low, and she's extremely dehydrated and borderline malnourished."

"what's caused that?" i clenched my eyes shut, a single tear escaping the corner of my eye and trickling down my cheek as i awaited my doctor's next words. i knew they were going to give away my secret, a secret i've been dreading for my mother to find out for a couple weeks now, but, i knew she'd find out somehow.

"everything adds up to two specific, yet dangerous disorders. i'm afraid, ms parkinson, that jenna is both anemic," my doctor paused, "and bulimic."

and just like that, my whole world came crashing down.
