i twirled my lanyard around my fingers, one of my hands tucked into my front pocket, calmly inhaling and exhaling as i walked down the sidewalk towards the counseling office.

i was clad in both my leather jacket and my leather boots, and the combination made me look more as if i was a wannabe biker chick rather than a rebellious young adult. my ripped, distressed blue jeans added to the look, sending my overall style into the rebellious young adult category rather than what i was aiming for. my hair was tied back into a tight ponytail, and i was growing to believe i'd look like a female greaser if i had worn a bandana as a headband. my lips were painted a wine red, and i was silently wishing i would've went along with getting a nose ring- it would've looked amazing with that outfit.

my house keys were lightly clinging as i spun my lanyard around my hand, then unwrapping it and continuing the process as i walked. i earned a few slightly afraid and in awe looks from young children, who i didn't acknowledge, as i scared myself that their parents would scold me for frightening their children with my appearance and overall aura.

i was too busy looking at the oncoming people walking beside me that i hadn't noticed i was walking straight forward- in the direction of a tree. i slammed face first into the tree trunk, making a loud oof noise as i fell backwards, landing on my back. autumn leaves fell around me, one or two landing in my hair and some landing on my body. i groaned, reaching one hand up towards my nose and rubbing it- my nose had been through a lot of hits nowadays. i closed my eyes and sighed.

"are you okay?" a voice asked, their voice low, so i assumed it was a boy. i pried my eyes open, the sun slightly shining into my eyes through the spaces in between the tree limbs above us. i could see the outline of his body, and i placed a hand over my eyes as a makeshift shield, their face finally becoming clear.

they were clad in a black face mask, one like taehyung usually wore when he went out in public, but instead of wearing sunglasses, he wore nothing over his eyes. his eyes were small, like taehyung's, and his eyes were a beautiful shade of dark brown, much darker than taehyung's in comparison.

before i could continue inspecting this beautiful boy any further, he opened his mouth to speak once more, his pink lips slightly sticking together as he opened his mouth.

"are you okay?" his voice was deep, and since i wasn't being blinded by both the sun and pain, i could listen to his voice further. his voice was smooth and gentle, like music to my ears. "you took a pretty hard hit."

"u-u-uh," i stuttered, sounding like an idiot whilst still laying on the ground, the unidentified, yet hot, stranger slightly hovering over me, but not invading my personal space. "y-yeah! yeah."

the boy tilted his head, placing one of his hands underneath my back and helping me sit up. i felt dizzy, the world becoming slightly blurry as i sat cross legged on the ground. the boy sat on his knees, reaching forward and pulling the leaves from my hair. i swallowed the lump in my throat, my cheeks slightly tinting pink as he lowered his mask and lightly smiled before raising it back up.

"what happened?"

"i-i, uh, i ran into a tree." my cheeks turned a deeper shade as i admitted the embarrassing story, and the boy stifled a chuckle as his eyes bored into mine.

"what's your name?"

"jenna. jenna parkinson." i had the urge to introduce myself like james bond did, but introduced myself like a normal person nonetheless. i didn't want to come off as an immature goofball to this extremely charming boy sitting beside me.
